I ride a 7.5 but am thinking of moving up to an over 8 inch board, only thing is I'm pretty neurotic about my trucks having to be exactly as wide as the deck. But while decks come in a good 7 sizes these days, trucks come in 3. I'd probably want an 8.125 deck, so that would entail a 'medium' size truck (e.g. a Thunder 147) but it would have to be an exact fit, not 'almost'.

I was on the revive website looking at skateboard parts, i was also looking at skateboarding made simple, and you said that the truck width should match that of your board's width. but they only seem to have 5 inch trucks, should i look at a different site or have i just misunderstood? truck size matters very little, as long as its close to the end of the board. at the end of the day it doesnt matter, just whats comfortable to you, some people prefer smaller trucks or bigger ones

I skate 7.75 and can do the same tricks on any size board like aaron kyro did...I think its because you get a practice on a smaller surface it makes you more accurate. Makes you a better skater too imo if you can skate anything
