Switchfoot has the ability to just make you feel at peace with the world and at the same time expect more from it. You guys have taught so many of us how to think and love in different ways. Thank you all for that.

Underrated artists. I hope they're documented well enough for future generations to dissect and study a good representative of our times and internal thought processes . They reach elevating conclusions and express them in beautiful and relatable pieces. I would like for them to have more influence on our masses.

Jon, Tim, Chad, Drew & Romey are true examples of how to live this life. Serving community, giving, kind, selfless, and meek (which means power under control). There's no place like Hope🌟

Cried watching this. I can so relate. Just returned from a funeral where I didn't want to go because I didn't want to see some of the people. Turned out to be a healing moment. Now I want to reconcile with some people I threw away. So good.

We met the bones of us in our old backyard... I believe he is talking about going back to the past and the "us" is him and his younger self. He really didn't dig up bones in a literal sense, but just basically digging up the memories of his past. He's trying to figure out this war within him and what he's fighting for. Then he figures out that he's really fighting for himself but most of all, fighting for his younger self. The clock keeps moving forward but he's still living in the past as he sees himself smiling back at him from old photographs. How innocent he was back then before this war started, before he became who he is today. He's fighting against his own memories, the bones of his past. He's fighting for his younger self and the love he has for his younger self. That's what this song means to me. My whole life I have fought for my younger self and have been fighting a gruesome war, trying to figure out what I've been fighting for.

This is beautiful and honestly I think it is what this song is about. At first I thought it might be about a relationship (and perhaps maybe part of it could be) but I think this battle with the self makes the most sense and would be in true Switchfoot fashion.

I met the bones of us In our old backyard And I dug 'em all up With nothing but an old guitar And the past starts talking With younger souls 'Bout the dreams that we started off with Before we both let go And it's time to figure out Time to figure out Time to figure out this war Time to figure out Time to figure out Figure out who I'm fighting for Into the unknown Let's follow this through I'm fighting for us But most of all, for you Our heart's like a flood That washes us new I'm fighting for us But most of all, for you Most of all, for you Most of all, for you Most of all, for you And the clock moves forward We let our love get sore It was one of those arguments Can't remember what the fight was for I heard the front door slam And after the aftermath I saw you smiling back at me From a box of photographs And it's time to figure out Time to figure out Time to figure out this war Time to figure out Time to figure out Figure out what I'm fighting for Into the unknown Let's follow this through I'm fighting for us But most of all, for you Our heart's like a flood That washes us new I'm fighting for us But most of all, for you Most of all, for you Most of all, for you Most of all, for you Most of all, for you

His "christian" music is my favorite these days...It's like...his words (and the mood of his songs) remind me that he's been down the road with God for a long, long time...and he knows that it doesn't always get easier...And yet, like most of us (who claim to know and love God)...we do go on and continuue to have faith. Where else is there to go?...(John 6:67-69)

The song is amazing and probably my favorite (of course my favorite period of albums are legend of the chin to O gravity. The difference is that this song shows more maturity to me at least. Or thoughtful thought. that said the music video is simple but the use of driving the old truck without any of the added of cars driving into the water is nice, calming, and relatable.
