Thanks so much for sharing all of this! I'm with Streamyard, but I received an email that stated my price was not changing from what I already pay, and I pay an insanely cheap amount, like just a little more than the new monthly fee, but for one year. (I signed up for a plan that was a limited time plan a few years ago.) However if they revoke this in the future, if they tell me they will no longer honor my set price, I will jump ship quick. $44 a month is not feasible for the small content creator who's not making money or very little (I make like $15 a month on KZbin so no way I'm paying $44 a month for the streaming service!). I used to always recommed Streamyard to AWC speakers if they had never streamed before, because it was cheap and easy to use. I won't be doing that anymore. I can't justify that price to anyone.

That's great! Hopefully, they will honor it for as long as you need. Streamyard is such an easy and accessible platform, I hate to leave it, but I can't justify adding that much to my budget. Restroom might be a good one to recommend for newbies. Their free version is decent!

@@WriterSamWicker Restream? lol...I think that's what you meant. So I'm guessing you didn't receive the same email stating that they would honor your current plan? Curious that I received that email. I pay annually but maybe you were on a monthly plan and that made a difference? So curious about all of this!

Gotta love autocorrect! 😅 Yes, definitely Restream. I am on a month plan, so that might be why. It could also be the number of uses of your affiliate link, too? More than likely it's a monthly plan vs. a yearly one.

Thanks for the overview, Sam. A lot of great points. Happy that you loved Restream. We need to up our game with the gallery of overlays. You inspired me! 💜

I wish I could capture going through them, but technical gremlins! Restream is a great product and there is always room to grow. I like how it's easy to see with the larger icons, which might be a plus for certain visually impaired users. It's a beautiful studio!

Thank you so much for this video. I have not done research yet and am not doing livestreams but I have heard creators complaining about Streamyard lately. This is a great and concise video that I hope gets more views.

Harris Heller and Senpai Gaming along with a few others helped me run OBS by myself. We used it for a dual streaming set up when we were gaming. However, you're right - it is very technical, not user-friendly, and the learning curve is multi-level and covered in snow...
@WriterSamWicker2 ай бұрын
😆 multilayered and covered in snow - I like that! And it's so true.

I was OBS/streamlabs before Streamyard... I likely will stay at Streamyard or go to Restream. I had too many tech issues with my stream when I used OBS/streamlabs.

Ahhh thanks for letting me know! I'll do some extra test runs.

Streamyard will charge $431.88 on my auto-renewal date, Nov 4, 2024. Nah that’s too much! Gotta to jump ship soon.

Way too much. I hope this helps with your decision! Good luck.

Ooh, ooh, another question: Streamyard was a great choice 4 years ago because it took the processing power load off your computer and made it the cloud's responsibility. Do all these apps offer similar streaming quality no matter how much processing capacity you have, or is there a better one than Streamyard? Thanks for all the comparison investigating, Sam! I am puzzled by some people who have a hard time staying connected to SY and wondering if one of these is better.

That is a great question and I should've included that! I know each of us have different CPUs or use our phones to stream. I'm pretty sure Restream and Onestream should be cloud based and capatible with most. Here are some links to look at the specifics for each: Restream FAQs: restream.io/pricing Streamlabs: streamlabs.com/content-hub/post/streamlabs-desktop-system-requirements Evmux: www.evmux.com/blog/minimum-requirements-for-using-evmux/ Onestream: helpdesk.onestream.live/en-us/article/essential-devices-and-equipment-for-streaming-with-onestream-live-2mmge4/
