It's an amazing device! Make sure you do all the software updates and security updates before testing it out. It runs far better once you've updated everything. I love the camera and the unbelievable battery life personally. The HUB is underrated and is about the most useful thing on any smartphone.

You may already know this, but you can use practically any part of the physical keyboard like the earlier BB10 touch pads. Makes life easier when scrolling through pages of texts and stuff, and avoids unwieldy swipes on the screen while the keyboard is open. I used the phone extensively a while ago when they launched it in my country, and it felt like one of the best android displays out there. Do check out the nifty pre-loaded DTEK app, that tells notifies you about exactly what, when and for how long a process any other app uses and let's you disable it too. For instance, if a free flashlight app on the Google Playstore randomly uses the microphone, DTEK lets you know when and for how long it did so. Love your videos, and I can't wait to see how you feel about the device after two weeks. Cheers!

Welp Mr. Sir. I like to say that iPhone is the smooth experience of the fight or os. I use the IPhone 5s and Blackberry Priv as my main phones. Yes I use 2 phones. iOS is just so optimized so well that even old phones like 5s. Don't run bad. If not better than the priv. Actually i feel like the the priv has very little power in it. It get so slow and hot. Yet I love it all the same. I can never get rid of a full android experience without a keyboard.

I had this phone and it lasted a good year, which doesn’t sound long but it is because I am constantly dropping my phone. I may have accidentally slept on it and thrown it. Downside is when you crack the screen you have to replace the whole top sliding piece, which can cost upwards of $300. And lastly, I found that I barely used the keyboard, and it began to loosen with time.

I am curious as to what your end result and opinion is. Heard something like back in 2009 Blackberry controlled 50% of the cell phone market, and now in 2016 control less than 1%. That's crazy to me. As a former Blackberry user myself, I loved it when I had one. I also love my OnePlus One. Blackberry meets Android could make for something quite unique and special.

I have a Blackberry Passport and have had it since October when before I was exclusively Android. As a smartphone it does not do most things as well as other smartphones, the camera isn't great, you can't get a lot of social media apps, it sucks for gaming because of the design of it but with all that said I actually quite like it. I don't use my phone for gaming, or photos or snapchat or anything like that but the stuff it does do (email, whatsapp, texting, etc.) it does way better than any other phone. This justifies the fact that I got it for around half the price of an S6 and honestly I like having a phone that is just very efficient at the things I need it for and doesn't try to shove unnecessary apps down my throat.

I am liking the keyboard. I have never done well with the screen key board. I loved my old Blackberry from 08. Had lost of trepidation when I went to the HTC Increadable screen keyboard. never done well since. I also LOVED the blackberry calendar. I have always loved blackberries but I stopped using them after they became not so popular anymore. I have had many phones. After I had my Curve 9300 I had many other phones: Nexus S, Samsung galaxy S3, Samgung Galaxy S4, LG G2, Iphone 5S, Nexus 5. After the Nexus 5 I decided to disconnect from all social medias and got a Blackberry Bold 9900 (Still a great phone by the way). Once I heard about the PRIV I got so excited... a BLACKBERRY with a KEYBOARD and ANDROID! :D Anyway, my point is I have had many other phones so my opinion is not biased and not "fanboy" ish in any way. I LOVE my PRIV. I have had it since it first came out, for the first little while it was pretty buggy and slow, but that was simply software and I trusted that Blackberry would pull through with updates. I am so glad that I waited, a little while ago they came out with a huge update and almost every single problem was fixed. This phone is a BEAST and its perfect, but you have to look at it in a class of its own and not as "just another android phone" to be impressed and intrigued by it. GO PRIV. Hoping for a PRIV 2 or whatever it will be called :)

My Galaxy S6 Edge+ probably runs circles around this thing, but pretty good for a Blackberry phone, the brand notorious for being years behind everyone else.

I had a terrible experience with sliding phones. Still skeptical of buying BB prive..but I like the keypad..

Because Blackberry finally made the switch to providing Android on this phone it will probably be pretty good. I actually like the physical design of the Blackberry Priv and considered getting one. I haven't had a physical keyboard on a phone in quite some time and it would be interesting to try one again.

I love this phone........yes it has its quirks but overall it is a keeper, I got in the middle of December. I have had Samsung S5 and HTC One M8

I have had my priv for almost 3 yrs and it has been a good and faithful servent. The last 4-5 months have been tough because the ph lags really bad, in mean it... is... slow. It was pretty good, the screen was really nice to watch content on and you had the option as to which keyboard you wanted to use. (on screen or physical)Now I'm waiting on the my Key2 to arrive. I am not looking forward to that small screen but the Key2 has a much better battery, better physical keyboard, the speed key and it is built like a tank, it's very solid. I own a small business so these things are very important to me (i don't think i've ever played a game on my ph before)We will see how is goes.

I love my priv, hub is great only thing that is annoying is the notification icons on apps (like the old blackberry/iPhone) and you can't turn them off and they status there when you're clear your notification bar

What is the actual mechanical difference between the Priv and the samsong? i always felt samsung were very smart phone but always had battery insecurity issue with them, also with the samsung i felt that my files were exposed out there and i had no privacy, i got the Passport2 and i am loving it, i am a big fan of BB phones since the very first phone that was out, and when BB came out with a touch screen i was disappointed and i had to drop blackberry up until Today! The new phones are AWESOME! and they put everyone else to shame, specifically the apple Lol

you know you can use the hardware keyboard as touchscreen too...you can have your fingers of the screen and swipe on the keys to scroll and use a cursor

I think that BlackBerry Passport devices still the best because of Bb10 multitask Os. All depends of what you need ! I don't need a good camera ! Priv camera is better than Passport camera but I don't care !
