Glad to have you aboard the Lumix gang! I was rocking the ZV E-10 when you first started your channel and found your content really useful during that time. Since then I, like many others, have found Lumix's recent offerings since the release of phase detect AF to be the preferred "brand", and have since transitioned to the G9II, S5iiX and GH7 (S9 is on the wishlist). It makes a difference when a manufacturer focuses on improving core products rather than pushing units. It's easier to justify the price of something like the S9 when you have a good sense that your purchase today will continue to be improved upon for years to come rather than being cast aside for an entirely new unit within a couple years. Can't wait to see what you bring to the table for Lumix content 👍

Great vid dude! As a long term shooter of an S5II and two S5’s, I love that more people are switching over. While I don’t have an S9 yet, the appeal of either having a tiny full frame body with just a lens that does everything or rigging it out to be a cine cam (I believe Cam Mackay has used one rigged) is an interesting prospect!

I also recently took my chance at a Lumix due to a nice Black Friday deal (S5iix for 1899 Euro). Mostly because of open gate but also because it seems like the biggest competitor to Sony products at the moment. Haven't the chance to use it a ton yet but so far I'm loving the huge amount of possibilities with this camera where Sony is limited in some regards.

Hi. Loved the video. I would love to get myself a lumix. Could you talk maybe about your experiences with other cameras? You've never talked about your story with Canon, Nikon, etc. Personally, I think it would be great to hear the thoughts of someone who has tried them all.

Hi Thomas, I think to switch my ZVE10 to a S5ii do you think it's a good idea ?
@thomasjmcclureКүн бұрын
the biggest challenge with switching systems is lenses. Id say if you havent invested much in the sony lens system then yeah! its definitely a big upgrade! but if youve got a ton of lenses for sony E, be prepared to lose a decent bit of money on those if youre having to sell them to replace with L mount

either way you'd have to change glass for those options, as what you have is designed for apsc (still usable for full frame cameras but slightly defeats the purpose). Both are great cameras, id go with the option that you can get good glass for
@AllCarsUnited5 сағат бұрын
@@mowgli_stream glass for Sony is cheaper. I own the s5ii and Sony a7cr and a7r3. The advantages lumix has are the built in lut feature for photos and videos and the Ibis system . Other than that, the sony system has way more lenses, smaller lenses, higher quantity lenses at a lower price point etc

I’m really not that familiar with Fuji cameras tbh. I’ve used the xt3 a little bit, but not much
@escapingdeception579919 сағат бұрын
@@thomasjmcclure The xm-5 is similar in a lot ways to the Sony zv e10 II just Fujifilms Vlogging camera. It offers open gate recording though which I’m very surprised Sony hasn’t jumped on the open gate wagon since they seem to target us creatives and vloggers. Think they are missing the mark by not adding it as a feature. I do love more Sony cameras though

I own a bunch of g master and art lenses for my sony system. And own about all of the lumix lenses for my s5ii.
