True. 7 too. Has so many cool glitch shortcuts like on Maka Wuhu, skipping almost the entire second section by falling off at the right place. Shortcuts are so fun in 7 and Wii, but in 8/8DX so many shortcuts are impossible on the retro tracks thanks to the track design or game physics.

Mario Kart 7 was my childhood. I first got the game in 2015 and had lots offun with it. Mario Kart DS was very unique with the mission modes that had a chance to make a return in Mario Kart Wii but sadly, they didn't. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is extreamly fun expecially with the DLC tracks. Nintendo could have at least added New Battle Courses in the game.

8 technically had single lap tracks, altough it still said it had 3 laps, weirdly. A couple of examples of single lap tracks are N64 rainbow road and that one mountain track where you stop at the end.

The thing is that games from super circuit to mk7 have better arguments to be played over Mario kart 8 deluxe rather than nostalgia: * nintendo switch prices being expensive. * Mk7, DS and super circuit download/single pak mode multiplayer. * Mario kart Wii motion controls, bikes, active competitive community. * Mk Double Dash with its Unique mechanics and 16 player LAN mode. * DS mission mode. * Old battle mode from Super circuit, 64, Double Dash and DS. Basically every game has a gimmick that makes them Unique. Super circuit doesnt have many reasons to be played over any other game but if You want to count emulators it becomes the most affordable Mario kart by being playable in any Mobile device and in comparison to smk is better in every single way. 1. MarioKart Double Dash!! - not as many tracks is a shame, but its just SOO MUCH FUN!! Especially once you get used to the drifting 2. MarioKart Wii - awesome track selection & insanly fast gameplay, also just a ton to do single-player 3. MarioKart 8 - really awesome! I love the 200cc mode and the track selection is the best in the series 4. MarioKart 7 - awesome handheld version of what basically would become Mariokart 8 5. MarioKart DS - I love thisone but i dont think its aged as well as some of the others 6. MarioKart 64 - really solid, but the drifting mechanic takes alot of getting used to 7. MarioKart Super Circuit - i LOVE this game, i didnt play it as a kid, but still i think its just a blast, the only real drawback is the tracks are very short. Super fun game 8. Super MarioKart - i really havent played thisone that much, but some of the tracks drive me crazy, still its got a nice skill curve & is pretty fun!

I’d put Double dash at 3, 8 deluxe at 2, and Wii at 1. Mario kart Wii is the only Mario kart I still play today. I think the thing that boost it above the rest is that it has the best game mechanics and tech. Mk8 deluxe I dislike how the karts move. If we are just going based on enjoyment I wouldn’t even put mk8 deluxe top 5, but I have to account for what mk8 deluxe had to offer and what it included, and think it deserves 2nd taken that into account. Wii I think is the best all around, and as a bonus even has CTGP. Sorry for the long comment but that’s just my thought and opinion.

Agree. It also has the funniest and best multiplayer experience ever. Nothing beats the fun you have if you can kick other racers next to you and also use that to dodge red shells or other items that would hit you in another situation. Also having Versus races only against other players and not CPU's makes the experience much better.

Mario Kart 64 rocks. The 4 player is fun due to the chances of getting the three red shell or lightening is quite high for the 2,3&4th player. Plus it was the leap to 3D from 2D mode 7.

As far as overall gameplay, i undestand 8 deluxe & dbl dash. But Mario Kart 64 is by far my favorite! Easy to play, hard to truly master. Still competitive time trials to this day. Simple, but great!

Totally agree. Also it wasn't that important to the series. Retro tracks were already introduced in SC (they were likely cut out from DD because of the GCs limitations), character and kart selections were so small and much better in DD, the controlls and the drifting were much better in later games (even DD driving and drifting mechanics were better), the retro tracks were not the slightest bit improved, just copy pasted from their games (and in DD retro's cases even downgraded, like where is Mushroom bridge's wiggler waggon?) Multiplayer was unable to play normal Cups (same with Wii, but with Wii at least Versus was fun), only 3 or 4 nitro tracks that are loved by fans (smallest ammount of loved tracks after SMK and maybe SC). Only good thing was mission mode and it didn't even come back in any later game. DD! and 7 are much more memorable and did more for the game series than DS and both were fun, no matter if Multiplayer or solo experience.

Wii my wife and I played it til there was nothing left to unlock, 64 was the game back when it came out, and I liked Double Dash for the chaotic nature of that one. 8 deluxe touches on all the good points, but hasn’t drawn me in like those other 3 Whatever the next Mario Kart will be, just give us all the tracks. Like all of them. I think it could as dlc kinda like what 8 Deluxe did but the classics. I’d love that

My Mario Kart Ranking: _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 11. Super Mario Kart - This game just has very slippery and bad controls, and it also has some of the worst tracks in the series, and sometimes the CPU plays can just get very OP items out of nowhere which is so unfair and whenever you fall down the map, it takes 8 years to get back in the race! 10. Mario Kart Super Circuit - Again I’m not a big fan of these bit game’s mechanics, it takes actual muscles to drift and again it takes a long time to get back in the track, but it’s a bit better because it got more better tracks! 9. Mario Kart Arcade GP (Series) - These arcade tracks are alright, I only played GP DX once, but the controls are alright, and the teleportation gimmick is cool, but a lot of these tracks feel empty and forgettable, but their musics slap tho, especially Bon Dance, Peach’s Castle, and DX DK Jungle 8. Mario Kart 64 - I get it might be nostalgic to you guys, but I’m not trying to hear a music that sounds depressing in the intro, and it only has 16 tracks, ntm half of them has so much straightaways and are boring tracks, none of these N64 tracks are in my top 50 favorites in the series anyway! 7. Mario Kart Live Home Circuit: - Why does this cost $100? I really like this concept where you can build your own track, it’s almost like Super Mario Kart Maker, which I do want in the next game, but major problem is I don’t live in a big home so controls may be too harsh at times and it’s easy to hit things! 6. Mario Kart Double Dash - This game has some very funky controls, I like the double player concept, and yes there’s only 16 tracks, but atleast some of these tracks are bangers, so I’ll give it that! 5. Mario Kart Wii - I barely grew up with Wii, this looks like a very incredible game, and I’d play it if I want to but too bad I don’t have a Wii console anymore, this game got some banger tracks and it’s all around a good Mario Kart game! 4. Mario Kart Tour - This game is just so indescribable, I love this game so much, this game really taught me how to save money and spend money when it is right, I met some new friends in the community, and just seeing us getting new tracks every 2 weeks is just so incredible, I can not thank enough for how much content they gave us for these 4 years, and I’m hoping the next Mario kart becomes live service because that would be awesome! 3. Mario Kart DS - This game is so nostalgic to me, I used to always play this game a lot in 2015-16/1st Grade, this game I had alot of memories with and just the overall controls are so satisfying and fast pace! 2. Mario Kart 7 - This game has to be my main, my biasy, and just my overall childhood, this game has one of the best chosen tracks in the series and imo, has a pretty good character roster, my mains would always be Yoshi or Wiggler, but year this game is just my favorite… if it wasn’t for… 1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - 96 courses, 48 characters, how much for can you say, I mean sure Tour had 500+ tracks, and 260+ characters, but you really only play those stuff when they are a top shelf of a track and 10-25 tracks return a tour so you can only play so much of these tracks every 2 weeks, but back to MK8 alot of these tracks are bangers and are just heavy hitters, like Madrid, Maple Treeway, Squeaky Clean, and Mushroom Gorge!

MK64 should be number 2 If you grew up in the 90’s going to your friends house and playing with all your bros was probably my favorite gaming memory’s. In my own opinion it’s still a fun game to play today

I feel like it's still the case where people rank MK64 more on nostalgia than anything else. While it does have some great course designs, it's got some really poor and boring ones too. The AI's cheating rubberbanding is straight up ridiculous, the controls are not particularly great and the 2D sprites overlayed on top of the 3D tracks really doesn't look good. It just doesn't hold up against any of the mainline games that came after it, except perhaps Super Circuit. And let's not also forget it's the game that introduced the blue shell.

Tour introduces Costumes, Reverse Tracks, new items like Super Bell, Bubble, Ice Flower, Events. You think they're not using any of that? 😭

i can tell that mario kart 8 deluxe, mario kart wii, & mario kart ds are absloute w! they are legends my boy i remember watching gameplay of all of them on youtube from different channels such as davidevgen, xRavenXP, and more/etc the fact the mario kart 8 deluxe booster course pass has mario kart tour courses...which means it's the only/first time the mario kart tour courses been remaked

Yes, it's fun. But beating RR is the hardest ever with all those jump panels trowing you off the track. Had to drive Special cup 40(!) times in 50cc to even get 4th on RR (because you couldn't do it in Time Trial without unlocking the cup in every cathegory)
