That's so crazy that the alpine coaster actually does through the clouds, that must be insane!
@verybighomer5 ай бұрын
At those altitudes in the alps it is not unusual. One of the best experiences in the winter is starting into a seemingly cloudy day and then you break through the clouds while riding the gondola. You enjoy your sunny skiing day while looking down onto the fluffy clouds from above.

24:20 Just to say to anyone who wanna go in high altitudes, here are some tips that might help: - Before you go to such a high place, stay a few days already at like above 1500 meters and do 1-2 hikes to slowly acclimatise. - Eat something BEFORE you go on the mountain. Preferably a real meal. - Stay Hydrated. - At the top if you are feeling sick, get something warm to drink like a tea or hot chocolate (drinking something sugary helps the most!) - Bring some snacks with you. Just an energy bar can help already. Of course everybody is different and these measurements will not help any person. There is no shame if you feel altitude sickness. Even people living there and going regularly high up the mountain can experience it from time to time.
@CoasterStudios5 ай бұрын
Great tips! Unfortunately we didn’t have the luxury of acclimating to the altitude with the first tip… it was a very harsh jump up to a mountain that high
@AlexanderOnFire5 ай бұрын
@@CoasterStudios Yeah I can imagine! Also if you are not really aware of these things or not thinking about it until the moment you find yourself in, there are actually not too many infos to read up on this stuff or warnings at the stations itself. At least if you are not actively searching for it. The thing is, these destinations originally were made with the thinking a guest will stay for a few days at said location. Having more people who are coming for day trips and such is a relatively new trend. But the problem here lies more with the destinations themselves, they actively advertise them as attractions and they often fail to inform properly that these are still unpredictable real mountains and everyone can react to them differently (And I mean also the weather, like you mentioned). Actually I really appreciate your raw and honest reaction! It really shows well that those places aren‘t better or worse, but different from a theme park :)

Taylor, something I've noticed over time from you greying out on coasters quite frequently, and here in this struggling with altitude, you might want to have your blood pressure and heart rate checked. You might have something called POTS which can make you dizzy when you stand up - it probably isn't but just something to check out. With the altitude situation, it's just very likely your blood oxygen saturation is lower than other people's, so you feel the affects a lot more.
@drdewott91545 ай бұрын
Yeah, that could be something. Taylor if youre reading this, I have noticed you seem to grey out on rides a lot more now than in the past. So yeah, might be a good idea to get that checked.

Having watched Coaster Studios since 2016, I've also noticed that Taylor has been more sensitive to intensity. This isn't a bad thing by any means as many enthusiasts are (that's why some thoosies don't like Skyrush or I305). I'm not sure if it's the on-ride dramatization in vlogs but there is a noticeable change in his reaction to rides especially regarding intensity. I remember him saying Wonder Woman Golden Lasso Coaster was the first coaster that was too much for him to handle (by that point he had ridden SteVe and I305). Your body changes when you get older. I hope Taylor doesn't develop motion sickness because that would really sting his channel.

18:40 It's worth mentioning that the train that goes up to Jungfraujoch is the tallest railway in Europe (and it's even electrified, with catenary wires!). The train station at the top is at 3 454 meters (11 332 feet) above sea level.

This makes me wish I could be back in Switzerland, it's been just over a year since I last went. Also a bit of a shame that you didn't go to Glacier 3000 to ride the world's highest alpine coaster, that was a pretty unique ride. I went on Rodelbahn at Heimwehfluh as well and holy s**t I tried to full speed it as well and I was like "Yeah nah this is too fast"

I was there in Switzerland in March 2017 for a school trip for DeSales High School in Louisville, KY. We went to Mount Pilatus at over 7,000 ft. We got one of 2 days out of the year that it was a clear day a local said. We flew into Paris and then went to Switzerland by train, onward to Lichtenstein castle, and finally Munich. This was a 8 day trip including 2 travel days

The first mouse in the red outfit is likely Edda Euromausi. The second mouse, wearing swim gear, seems to be a version of Euromaus in a beach or water-themed outfit. The third mouse in a blue outfit could be Euromaus, the primary male mascot in his typical costume. The fourth mouse, dressed in pink polka dots, seems to be another version of Edda Euromausi.

Great vlog and videos. Just returned 2 weeks ago from a trip throughout the country and the Interlaken / Jungfraujoch and Zermatt / Matterhorn were my 2 favorite areas. Would only add that the paragliding is a must do if possible--a very long and high flight over the lake, etc was incredible. And don't give Taylor a hard time-- mild altitude sickness is fairly random at this height so everyone should go see the top of Europe if you are in the area.
