What an awesome video, Glen! Ready for these temps to drop in Georgia a bit and I'll be cutting a lot of wood this Fall. My solar kiln project probably wont start until the spring but this kind of setup is really getting my head buzzing with ideas. Looking forward to the Solar + videos. I'm thinking of putting ceramic heaters in mine but I'm curious how your setup works in the cold. Thanks for taking the time to put such good info out there.

Still researching, haven't built yet. I'm surprised you can get the temp that high. I've always wondered 'why not have the front short wall with plastic panels as well for more solar gain'. Perhaps insulation becomes more important at some point?

Realistically, how long are you figuring a load of 4/4 hardwood from that 12-15% takes to get down to 6-8%? Also, would it be safe to say that if youre not hitting 70-80 degrees outside that syerilization is not possible? I live in northern ny, very similar wrather to you in Minnesota, trying to weight my options.
