What does the flexing after each set do? Does it have a positive effect on growth?
@schroederluck798410 жыл бұрын
Arnold used to flex in the mirror all the time for long periods of time (over an hour sometimes no bs). Called it weightless training. Who knows if that actually works but hey he was the best so there may be some worth to it. I'm not exactly sure why Steve Cook does it after sets, but I do think it pumps a little extra blood into the muscle, which would give a bigger pump.
@Joshmooredesign10 жыл бұрын
Schroeder Luck Thanks! Certainly something I'll look into more

@WpnsCo2013OEF9 жыл бұрын
Steve has said he does it in another video. It's called isometric holds or flexing to keep that blood pumped in the muscle and also is a good whey to condition the muscles during prep to be able to hold those poses while on stage. It's a huge concept that many many many body builders use. It's not just worthless and conceited posing in a mirror. Kai Greene also speaks of this kind of stuff.

I've been working out for 3 years yet I look like someone who has been working out for 1 year. So much time wasted, so much knowledge that I don't have any I have no idea how to start learning. People like Steve Cook are perfect with nutrition and working out, yet I don't know how they know what they're doing. Countless hours of research and I still am doing everything wrong. 3 years and my max bench press is 225, I don't know what I'm doing and I don't know who can help me. Can't trust trainers here either, this is my biggest passion in life yet I just can't process how things work.
@101stAirsoftDivision10 жыл бұрын
If you want to look like steve cook, its going to take illegal methods
@Pendaz1110 жыл бұрын
Aiyeris you want to ask yourself just 2 major things.... 1: what are you workouts like? are you doing reps until you really feel that burn or are you just getting a lil pump? your workouts may not be intense enough 2: how much do you eat? are you eating 5 meals a day? if your not you aint gonna grow its a simple as that.
@1311305010 жыл бұрын
First realise that most people on the internet know jack shit (look at Pendaz11's second point... the amount of meals doesn't matter, it's about total food and that's obvious). 1. Do a routine that has the big compound lifts (ICF5x5, Upper/Lower, PPL, Full body workouts and others) 2. Progressive overload. This is adding weight or adding reps. 3. Eat at a caloric surplus to build muscle, or caloric deficit to lose weight. Tracking macros/calories helps to gauge this. Weight should be added/lost a a realistic and consistent rate to minimise fat gain/muscle loss. Get .82 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight. Maintain realistic levels of fat and carbohydrates. 4. Get enough sleep. Get enough rest. 5. Drink enough water. But realise that many people spew advice that is not helpful to naturals.
@tokkles8310 жыл бұрын
UrethraFranklin In all fairness I found both of his (her?) points to be equally stupid.
@Pendaz1110 жыл бұрын
UrethraFranklin i was merely saying it simply as to get the point across, and by the way if you think i dont know what im talking about look at rich pianas videos he talks about eating 5-10 meals a day if you want to grow....your talking about staying in calorie surplus well no shit thats called having 5 meals a day
