Years. 20 years he's worked at this. His brother started the band and dragged Adam along. Check out Tim Faust touching tribute to Chris Rupp. Tim cries but has us all laughing too.

Adam plays a few instruments...he majored in music for trumpet being his primary I believe. There is a great story where Adam and his brother (who started HF) stated it pretty much came down to a proverbial flip of the coin which one would learn the beatboxing and who would sing, lol. Thanks for reacting!

Adam played trumpet, that's where the breath control came from. He learned the drums enough to know the right movements and how to position his body as if the drums, etc were real. And you're right. I can imagine the hours and hours and hours it took to perfect his genius. I've watched this particular routine over and over again and still love it so much.

Love Adam Rupp & his insane talent. He is the best out there in my opinion. He simulates the sounds of a drum perfectly. Many drummers have commented on how good he is. He sounds so realistic. His breath control must be crazy. I heard he makes the sounds both while inhaling & exhaling. This was a few years ago & hard to believe but he is even better now. Adam is the glue that holds Home Free together. He is their secret weapon which other a cappella groups can't match.

He's been beatboxing since at least when he and his brother Chris formed Home Free (in 2000). Curiously for an acapella band, the can all play instruments - Tim & Austin both play piano, Chance plays guitar, Rob can play saxophone and Adam Rupp plays drums, trumpet and anything else he puts his hand to. You really get to see Adam's no-monica in "Ain't Going Down".
@dragonmusher3 жыл бұрын
He's quite the master of his craft. There's videos going back many years. He's a 2X World Champion Beatboxer. He seems to get better every year. His ability to freestyle is just crazy . You have to check out his latest solo performances. It gets better...pretty jaw dropping. I think he did start it when he was about 12 but he started performing when he was like 15. All of his education is in music. I could really nerd out for hours on all the things he seems to be capable of. I think he is one of the few beatboxers on the planet that I could listen to a 90 minute concert of just him and not be bored.

Another note about Adam…..he actually took drum lessons…..to look like he really looks like he’s playing “drums” ….. What an amazing awesome guy 😘❤️‼️👍. Oh, he’s also known as a Freak of Nature…LOLOL….. 👍‼️😵💫❤️🥰. I was lucky enough to have pretty awesome seats at their concert…..(2nd Row Center…….like about 10’ from the stage) Pure Awesomeness doesn’t even describe the experience 🥰😘❤️‼️. So, those sceptics who don’t be it’s not him doing what he Does needs to get their heads outta their arse🤪😵💫‼️ LOLOL…sorry, but it was Super Fun 😘🥰‼️😵💫

Adam learned to play drums so his movements would look like he is playing. You’re right about time to get good. Adam said everyone starts out terrible until they get the hang of it. This was 7 years ago and he’s gotten even better. By the way, he is a two time world champion beatboxer
@patrickhumphreys58513 жыл бұрын
The funny thing is Adam once said that he was having a bad night and not on his game when he did this and this is why we call him a freak of nature because as far as I'm concerned this was great.
@babyfry47753 жыл бұрын
I think Adam taught himself drums so the would get the movements right. He’s a trumpet player for real. This is the video I love. He does more techno stuff now and does things on a looper live to save his voice I’m sure but I love this one as it’s close up to him and super clear and I just love his drum sounds. He’s amazing. You don’t need instruments when you have Adam! Yep, practice for sure!! Haha. I still don’t understand how he breathes. Shaking my head. Great reaction you two!

If you guys would use headphones you could really hear Adam do his thing and also hear music as it really is. GET HEADPHONES!
@TheWrath742 жыл бұрын
We did have some sound issues with this one. We do now use headphones, however we were using my 2000 watt bass enclosure to listen to this. There isn't a set of headphones made anywhere in the world that can touch the sound, specifically in yhe low end, that can touch it. Our issues in this one came due to me not having mic settings right and not realizing it. Not only am I a long time musician but also a long time sound engineer. Trust me.. we hear everything even if it doesn't come across in our vids. Thanks for watching tho and have a great day.
@theswolemates2 жыл бұрын
Headphones cant touch the system we were using. We do now use headphones because it works better with the recording of our videos. However, even using professional studio headphones, the sound isn't as good as what we used to use. We apologize for the sound issues we had with this one. Had some stuff set wrong and didn't realize it at the time. Hope you enjoy the next one better😁

If you haven't done it yet I have to recommend Home Free's Wake Me Up. Austin (my favorite, by a hair) is the lead but they all sound so fantastic. One reason I like the video is that the camera is close enough that you can see the movement of not only Adam's lips and tongue, but jaw and throat as well. It's fascinating to watch. And please be sure to watch the video through, to Austin final puzzled "What?" One my favorite endings. I like you reaction videos. Thank you for your insight.

I'm glad you guys finally got here and enjoyed it. I like the same style video but he's wearing a black shirt. It's just further down the Home Free timeline so to speak. I don't remember how many years separated the videos but to me his talent has only gotten better with the years and continued PRACTICE. Haha I really want to ask the other guys in Home Free or his wife if it ever gets to the point where they're like go away or cut it out for 5 min. Lol

@lrfcowper3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, this one is really old and not particularly representative of his current skill level. This has a lot of views because it's old. And every time a reactor reacts to it because of the high view count, it just gets more views, thus creating a feedback loop. I went to Home Free concert in August and was amazed at Adam's solo, then watched one from November and it was so much better and I thought, "How could he get any better?" And then folks started posting stuff from December and I was blown away again. He's just skyrocketing in his ability. You really, really, really, really, *really* need to watch a current one instead of this ancient thing. Try kzbin.info/www/bejne/rn3VgYl5grKre5o to see what he's up to now.
@lrfcowper3 жыл бұрын
Oh, and, yes, he learned drums after he started beatboxing so that his hand motions would be correct in his beatboxing. Because of course he did. He majored in trumpet performance in college, but also plays guitar, bass, piano, keyboards, and "anything you need played". He's just a musical polymath. Honestly, the whole Rupp family are scary talented.
