After seeing your vids and tik toks, I legit want to turn this thing into a WWE/gladiator style event. I made rulesets, costume designs, hell even walkout music for people. If I could I would straight up love it if I could tell you more about it and credit the idea properly.

Something like it already exists but with metal weapons admittedly this as a sport would be far more amusing
@lotus518
@lotus518 Жыл бұрын
@@epicbossn1874 isn't that just fencing though, i think the kind of "childish" feel and the un-professionalism of pvc pipe and pool noodle kind of adds to the experience because its something mostly anyone can do at home and have fun with

@@lotus518 no I can’t remember what it’s called but they have a sport similar to kendo somewhere in Asian I think it’s China that use metal weapons and have points awarded like unarmourrf combat there’s also another one that basically has people wear suits of armour and the just wail on each other with swords and axes which can be amusing to watch

Try making cross guards with a section of pool noodle or a coupling, they are actually pretty useful for locking people's blades down.

I used to do this all the time when I was younger we called them boppers. I would advise wrapping the striking edges of with duck tape so that the foam doesn't tear and break while in use.

I’m doing like a pool noodle sword tournament with friends, and I wanna good way to determine who’s won a 1v1 match. Should I do it based on fencing, a one and done chest hit. Or do a limb version, where a hit to the arm makes you lose the arm, and a hit to the leg makes you lose a leg

Not gonna lie. For just using pool noodles, I am impressed you and your friends spar well, still treating them as though they are bladed despite the minimal pain they inflict. Most people would tend to just rush and flail blindly but you guys are using defense and fencing, the hits seem controlled (mostly with some exceptions). That's my perspective tho but still, impressive. Do you guys practice HEMA longsword by chance?
@BFGalbraith74

Stop and go is the opposite of good sparring, larping is bad technique.
@kalivr1908
@kalivr1908 Жыл бұрын
If you meant resetting after a hit, I don't think I understand how or what makes it "not good sparring" because the context I assume here is bladed and/or blood first drawn so if you get hit once, you'd either be dead or be unable to continue from a cut or a stab which is understandable for wanting to reset unless of course there is a concept you identify and want to practice?

I tried making a whip at one point, it was a short section of PVC with a long pool noodle, it was coreless so it was floppy, it was great while it lasted, it was really hard to defend against while having the con of no parrying ability but it had amazing long range, unfortunately the pool noodle broke in half after a day of rough play.

Polesword: get a PVC pipe about 6 feet long, fit pool noodle over 3 feet of the pipe, make sure the end of the noodle goes at least 2 inches ahead of the end of the pvc so you can do stab attacks without inflicting too much pain, coat the entire thing with duct tape to ensure that the noodle stays in place and protects it from damage, don't attack hard objects to train this will do damage to the pool noodle and significantly shorten the lifespan of the weapon, also don't tip drag.

@FTFSupremacyROBLOX

Yes, but the pain is significantly reduced compared to bare PVC, it's more of a blunt pain than a snap you would get from bare pvc, I find the pain as a positive thing as it gives you incentive to try to avoid getting hit.
