Basically @@kinsagamoto she went through the same thing as the Priestess as a rookie, managed to recover enough and train enough to join the Hero party that killed the Demon Lord, but is still HEAVILY traumatised by anything regarding Goblins. She's ashamed to reveal it because she feels weak, she helped slay a Demon Lord yet is terrified of 'lowly' goblins, and until she meets Goblin Slayer and Priestess (and later a character from the between-season movie) she has noone she can trust to understand her. It's the reason she's so close to Priestess and has a thing for GS, they're literally the only people she feels she can trust with her past and who won't judge her. This helps her slowly recover from her trauma, what you see here is a MASSIVE improvement over when we first meet her.

To truly be healthy, she needs to be strong on her own. If she would end up with him, she'll be needy and afraid all the time. This shows that he inspired her into taking the first step on her own without depending on him. Also, Goblin Slayer already has someone he fights for, and it's Farm Girl. She is the only part of his childhood, the only thing so close to him that has allowed him to also grow on his own past his childhood trauma with a little nudge. She is the one that though innocent in many things, sort of guides him into opening up to others. That is his actual girl, the one that helps him grow without being neither a burden nor an annoying nag, but someone that says to him "Go, see the world beyond the Goblins. Meet people, there will be some that will love you, others not much, but be there for them as those that love you will be there for you. I'll be here for when you return, just come back safe to me".

Edit: that and adapt the other prequel story of goblin slayer early years as a rookie adventurer. See the mishaps he done and how he adapts to it and meet the other adventures like spearman and witch. Plus connect to the other prequel with (spoilers) The spearman and witch meets a blacksmith who gave a magic spear to them. The witch recognized its been reforged and the blacksmith told the story of belonging to a fighter lady, which the fighter was part of spear maiden party many years ago.

Maniacal laughter isn’t in character for GS. He has only ever been stoic and calculating, even in the heat of battle. At most, he expresses grim satisfaction when he counts his kills. Also, he is pragmatic. As long as goblins die (and he can ascertain their demise), I don’t think he cares that he did not personally deliver the blow (especially when they vastly outnumber him). There have been times that he has killed them indirectly, through flood or fire. Finally, it was he who alerted SM for aid, so he has the satisfaction of his plan coming together. It’s easy to forget that he is a tactician first and a warrior second.

In some archaic superstitious tribes war was highly ritualised, and some berserker-like war cultist fought entirely nude. Some celts continued to fight like that even after most of gaul already used proper armor and formation for generations. There was other examples of similar partial armor, like gladiator gear (which in this case is exactly what this women wear), bronze age italian armor, pre-roman Spain, 18-19 century hungarian light cavalry... Important to note, in tight formation with large shields armor is secondary. Similarly, skirmishers preferred light gear. And, since this is fantasy, there most likely protective magic in place.

An open area is literally the goblin's weakness Goblin slayer is equipped for close combat which is suitable for cave hunting not open area which I can see he already anticipated and calls upon sword maiden who also get wet dreams about him from time to time

Not in the open like that though. Even in the light novels he is hesitant at best to face huge amounts of goblins out in the open like that. He learned how dangerous it can be early on when he nearly died doing so defending the village which the hero who was still a little girl at the time would come from. Since then he avoids facing large amounts of goblins out in the open whenever possible. If it can't be avoided like here or when the farm was attacked he tries to get assistance to even the odds as much as he can. Is why Goblin slayer tries to face them in caves when possible. He will flood them out, smoke them out, even burn them out, or poison them. Goblin slayer can kill hundreds of goblins underground because it neutralizes the number advantage goblins almost always enjoy. Out in the open no matter how strong of a fighter he might be he can be overwhelmed easily.

Seems that way at times, but really, with how much more dangerous the quests are getting, having a full team is one of the major things keeping him alive.

Actually more so. Priestess, who baseline is actually very powerful for her age miracle wise, was a hero candidate right up until the disastrous first adventure. She was chosen by one of the Gods who roll the dice. However, said god doesnt roll well most times and thus Priestess is left for dead. As we all know thats when the most random thing happens, Goblin Slayer shows up. GS did all that of his own free will. Even though Priestess was abandoned in the grand game, she still has a minute ability left over from then in the form of very limited precognition and magical insight. So whenever Priestess seems to know something is afoot its that ability most likely.

ultimate power move king: I am useless Goblin slayer: saword maiden I have a gawblin tatoo to prove these disgusting creatures are pupets of the evil god or something sword maiden: then crusading time it is, I'll gather the troops gs proceed to solve the plot and defeat the boss and hidden boss before a crusading force arrives for the clean up job.

I want to see a berserker-like character that has an immunity to being slowed or stunned and when these scenes happen, they just charge right in and fight like a demon Obviously for the plot to work and there to be a challenge, they still wouldn't be able to kill ALL the goblins But just that extra lil pizzazz of sheer fear from the goblins as a monstrous berserker makes sure SOME of them will die would be satisfying
