it could actually be enough, though.. I don't know about Japanese castle, but castles are highly effective defensive structures and thus didn't require lots of troops. For example, Krak des Chevaliers, a massive crusader castle in Syria, only housed 2.000 men at its peak.
@couragew62605 жыл бұрын
nam trịnh A lot of historical Castles were really sturdy but plenty of them had from similar to the exact same problems. You were trapped on the inside, they were often stuffy, they were made defensively (obviously) but they were not made for long term living. They were cramped and could oftentimes be boring and claustrophobic. Granted, these are just general problems that a lot of defensive buildings had with a few exceptions depending on the nation and time period.

*Good job. I think that it is of great significance that you chose this sword from many swords.* Leave it to me if Japanese samurai sword. Kokin Denju no Tachi is inscribes the name of Bungonokuni‐Yukihira. It is the specialty sword , known as Meibutsu Kokin Denju no Tachi. Of course it is one of national treasures. The table of the blade is engraved Sanskrit and Kurikara, and the back is also Sanskrit and Acala engraved. Graceful elegance of the sword figure, creation of the edge blade, sculpture is also a representative work of Yukihira, Yukihira was also called KISHIN-TAYU (EvilーGod GreatーMan) , He had make Swords in Tsukushi state. Above all, the story of the name is historical, it is a sword that has a big meaning in that Japanese literature and the Imperial family are also involved Please look around at VLog. The court is the only evidence involved in the war of the samurai It was also a sword useful for correctly interpreting old Japanese nature and human feelings written in only 31 characters called Waka.

Yo Lin, what do you say for these guys posting in your comments that you, for one reason or another, are pushing a false narrative of japans history? When i saw that it took me off guard. Your channel is where i come to learn about japans history, rather exclusively. So i was really surprised to see somebody say that. I havent tho seen you defend yourself and i dont see why not. Can you touch on this " controversy" of sorts that's brewing here? Appreciate it man
@Linfamy6 жыл бұрын
Hey man, thanks for your comment! This will be a bit long, but please bear with me. I try to stay away from arguing on the Internet (life is too short), so if someone is being combative or has, frankly, racist comments, I will not respond. Also, if a comment has 5 paragraphs, I really don't have time to respond...I hope that's understandable. For example, there is a certain commenter who I believe you've talked to who has made abusive and generalizing/racist remarks against Koreans. One example of a comment from this person: "What an idiot Korean. It is OVERDUE, idiot. Do NOT keep on dodging like miserable cockroaches" Due to the well-known nationalistic animosity between many Koreans and Japanese, I cannot help but see the angry comments about "LIES" as motivated reasoning stemming from nationalism. There have been other commenters who have questioned certain info (non-combatively) in the videos that I've responded to, and we've had (I believe) productive back-and-forths. Please understand that I cannot participate in many of these types of conversations because it may just take up 100% of my waking hours =). It requires researching online for available resources that are not behind a pay wall. About the info in my videos...someone mentioned that I am not qualified to analyze primary source evidence...and they are CORRECT! I'm just some guy reading books and making videos. Anyone who is not a historian of Japan does not have the knowledge and context to analyze the evidence. My info comes mainly from the books I mention in the description. They are not known to have any biased agenda, especially the Cambridge History of Japan is well-respected and has writings from many different historians. One caveat, George Sansom's A History of Japan to 1334 is quite old and sometimes has outdated info. I try to double check the info in there against the other books. Hope this clears things up! =)

Linfamy thank you bud i really appreciate you responding. I never believed you were purposefully pushing false narratives as some have suggested. I feel your response is fair and honest. You admit to the extent of your knowledge, and i completely agree that arguing with ppl in YOUR comment feed is not just a waste of time but also not a good look. Thanks a bunch man. Im still here on every upload and right away as im sure you notice. Thanks for addressing this. Thanks for the continued content. You should teach. You make learning fun, even for adults. *By the way, do you know the difference between tachi and katana in a Japanese sword?* For example, when you see a Japanese sword in an art museum etc., Which do you understand tachi or katana ,is that? For example Do you understand that when you see a Japanese sword at an art museum, is it a tachi or a katana?
@Linfamy6 жыл бұрын
As I understand it, a katana is displayed blade-up, a tachi is displayed blade-down.
@両角淳-x2l6 жыл бұрын
Linfamy Mister…It's natural for you to understand. Foreign VLog viewers coming here probably do not understand. Do not you think so? Besides, Mr.'s answer is accurate, but it is not accurate. If you guys watch "Koshirae", you can understand it with a single shot. Hang carry or wear carry. If only blades, distinguish by the principle of carving the name of a sword, When the blade is turned down, tachi if the name is right, katana on the left If the name is not engraved you can distinguish by the shape of the warping depth. It is difficult because there was Koshirae change sword from tachi to katana, or from katana to tachi.
