Liked it, didnt love it or at least not yet and thats ok, The ninja Kunai got her in the heart which is why she died and I think what it showed was the under handed attack the civilian trick took the jedi master's full ability to save that alien leaving herself vulnerable and some times the dark side of the force can hide itself from the light evidenced by Palpatine being right under the jedi's noses. I did think Sabine and Reva scenes were not smart but I'll try not to crucify because my mother worked in the ER for 40 years and some stab wounds would victims would live and some would die and a huge factor was placement and timing of first aid.

Glad you gave a honest and totally not biased review that also act as a anti-woke diatribe. It's actually quite refreshing.

“A civilian cannot have a firearm, it goes against 12 preacents”... Digusting along with most of the show. Children been including in master giving orders, a knight talking over the master, a council that must discuss everything.... it’s DISGUSTING!!!

Probably the most honest review I’ve seen so far. I’m still undecided as to if I’ll watch it or not. Probably leaning toward not. It just doesn’t seem like the Kedi are being treated right if this is their heyday. To each his own though.

My prediction. Master Sol set the fire that destroyed Mae and Osha's village. The village was practicing the Force to close to the Dark Side and the Jedi came to kill it.

My issue with TV star wars is that it inherentily goes against the DNA that makes Star Wars special. The epic scale and scope of the universe, its city sized ships, its impossibly big planet cities, a battle station the size of a moon. The imagination of the universe is made for large budgets and the big screen. Everything on Disney+ seems small in scope and scale and cheap. That being said I'm actually enjoying Acolyte. The story is interesting enough for me and character of Sol is making this series worth the watch.
@benwasserman82238 ай бұрын
You are aware for at least 15 years, the best Star Wars media was on television or in the KOTOR games? The Clone Wars did more for the prequels' storyline than the movies themselves ever did.
@NicoEss8 ай бұрын
@@benwasserman8223 and you are aware that animation does not need a large budget to have scale and scope. Live action does require more coin to push the limits of what you can do with size and grandeur.

@@NicoEss And yet the public can't decide on what a true cinematic look is and what effects they will approve to bring that world to life. We thought Lucasfilm got it with Mandlorian and the Volume... until it didn't. Then people pointed to Andor making all of its sets practically.... only to criticize The Acolyte for doing the same thing. It's very inconsistent.

Let‘s talk about the lack of details? When the fire starts outside the spaceship like it was on a fire place and Osha extinguishes it like they were all in a planet with atmosphere 🤦🏻♀️ and what about the lack of any signs of cold in Carlac? Everybody seems to be perfectly comfortable in a frozen planet, running, breathing and wearing any sort of protection 😮 at that point of the episode I missed the Empire strikes back, the winter gears and the Wampa as well! 😂 Jokes apart, I feel that the love of details that we have appreciated in Lukas’ and Filoni’s works here is completely absent.

I agree with your assessment on the show. There are a number of flaws that yank me out of the show starting with Mae's statement, "Attack me with all your strength." There are many other ways that they can effectively show the level of her training. Yort could have been portrayed better as a Jedi knight what is all show lacking effective skills. This is a shallow attempt at at his focus on appearance while lacking depth of skill. I do not know any religion that condones suicide yet this is a vable option for Master Torbin. I do not buy it. Again, poor plot that does not match cannon. Sol is the only character that stands up to any valuing. Osha has skills but they are also under developed because of the direction of her life. I see Mae as the more emotionally controlled/motivated of the two to please the wiccan adults, but Osha has greater self-control because of her Jedi training. Yet, Sol is a solidly developed character based on the historically defined Jedi and has potential to bring the show back on track. Twins is an interesting twist that would depend on how it is developed. At best, this is a shaky start. I suspect that they tried to squeeze too much into too few chapters. I can't put my finger on why but it will probably be revealed as the series progresses. Additional: It is interesting that the Wiccans are multi-species so this broadens the cultural domain and could be interesting as to how it manifests as the plot continues.

I'm thankful that I'm not so heavily invested in the lore that it distracts me from actually watching the show. I depend on a few channels to set me straight and move on. I stopped watching many of them because of the negativity especially those who trashed the show based on the first 30 second teaser, SMH. So, I appreciate the even handed approach. Nice lamp, by the way. Hope you guys are keeping cool in the inferno. Carry on.

Same, bro. The genre they are leaning into isn't translated well, and the dialogue is a little unintelligent for a murder mystery. I'm excited to see that improve in the latter half of the season.

pretty sure it's neither Tenebrous or Plagueis, as the Smylo Ren helmet is too small for either of their heads, so I'm wondering how they are going to try to cram 3 generations of sith into less than 100 years considering Palpatine's already advanced age by the Phantom Menace.

Bro appreciate this review. We all knew what we were getting with this show, agenda driven show, whatever it sucks but it’s what it is. Too many dudes out there are just way too upset with this show not having a lead white make role, like if that’s going to be most of your review and why you hate the show, to me it’s just lazy criticism. We need to judge this show based off the story, how it’s written, cinematography and overall fit to the Star Wars story. I’m just confused why people are so bothered with a girl having two moms??? Especially when she comes from a cult of witches?? Like Jesus get over it. But I agree so far it’s honestly alright. Nothing great, but might as well watch it if your a Star wars fan

Wow Mike don't hold back, let us know how you really feel. only poking fun. Missed you and your wife's camera videos. Since you no longer have a web site for photography I had to ask your wife what happened to you guys. I actually thought the acolyte kinda sucked but was waiting to see where it was going. I watch scifi/fantasy shows to escape from the reality of our messed up world. Not to get fully imersed into another reality that has to make sense and follow rules. I just want to experience someone's art for a release from more mass shootings. After saying the above your review seems spot on. I followed your photo channel because you and your wife have wonderful on air personalities, not too over bearing and condemning of others, a short fun release and a bit of learning. subscribed to see where you are going, remember, it is after all just fantasy...

The reason why there is still incompetent shown in the Jedi order is because this is close to portray the ending of the high Republic. And how sloppy they were And it leads into how continued sloppy they were and the prequel films

Not 100% awful, but still fail to see the excitement on watching another episode. 180 million for this? No way. I thought Carrie-Anne Moss could be the reason for me to be a little more interested in the series, but she lasted 2 minutes. The fire in space was awful... There are a thousand things about physics that Star Wars (and all soft Sci-Fi) ignore (the speed of lasers, all planets having the same gravity and atmosphere, relativity, sounds and explosions in space, etc.) but this looked terrible; it’s really jarring to see campfire-style flames in the middle of space... The death by shrimp knife was dreadful, especially considering the "canon" that previous Disney series have set where people almost have to be decapitated to die. The performances are very bad... almost all of them... the least bad, I think, is the Qui Gon from Aliexpress. I don’t know if the performances are bad because of the actors or because of the script/direction; usually, it has more to do with the latter than the former. The costumes are not terrible (considering terrible would be dressed like musketeers, for example), but they are among the worst of all Disney series so far. Anyway... it’s not terrible as a random series to pass the time... as a Star Wars series, it’s plainly bad, not terrible because I expected something worse (I expected something that would change the canon again like Sabine in Ahsoka), but bad. It’s like a low-cost Matrix with lightsabers (which aren’t used as they should be), or a Jet Li movie in space... I wouldn’t know how to define it well. It’s obvious that whoever is in charge of Star Wars for this series doesn’t understand what Star Wars is, but well, you say that and they already label you as a conspiracist or worse.
