Yes they upgraded the Unit, moving the transformer out to a wallwort. The Wallwort is 12VAC as it takes AC for this Unit to work. The concept of powering the unit via the coax has been around for a long time and CATV uses it to power their amplifiers. I purchased one of these and I had a nasty AC Hum on position 1. I disconnected the Antenna and measured 12VAC on the position 1 connector. The other three positions tested OK. I called Ameritron Tech support and Rob stated there is a problem with the Unit. He suggested I return it or fix it myself. I am tired of repairing MFJ products so I returned it and got another one. Same problem! I returned it for a refund. I like the idea, I just need one that works...Good Luck to you . Thanks for the video...

We just mounted this switch on a tower and used it on 6 meters. Works great. We get 1.5 SWR with an analyzer but we believe the antenna is the problem and will be fixed in the next few days.

Haha! That is probably true! I will have to test that out sometime!

the SWR is increasing as you increase in frequency. why? because you are using a bnc "T" with your 50 ohm load. This creates a small stub that will have its own reactance. Try connecting your DL directly to the bnc port without a "T" and you might get better results in the higher frequencies. good luck

The manual says if turned off, it will default to coax 4. Maybe you didn't test it on coax 4 when switched off?
