This lesson is a site overview front blueprint schematics, to HVAC equipment, to the computer graphics.
We looks at room sensor, FCU (fan coil unit), air handler unit (AHU) , controllers and boilers.
Let me know your thoughts and feedback!

But i'm starting to realize that it would be immensely useful to know as much as possible about BAS. It would be beneficial to me and also I've been curious for quite some time now on how it all functions. Your video's are helping a lot. I went from PLC'S TO, node based architecture, in short your video I've watched at the end of my 3 weeks so far. Its perfect. Thanks a lot for taking the time out of your day to make this video. This was the most insightful intro to BAS video ive seen as we got to see the real life installation and equipment in action, juxtaposed to the schematic and head-end graphics, rather than just a classroom based video like most of the others ive seen. Im hoping to get into the BAS industry in a few years after i finish my HVAC apprenticeship so a video like this is really helpful. Im definitely looking forward to seeing more of your other sites and their BAS systems like this one and then maybe after that a intro vid explaining the different communication protocols and how they work. Also great job in explaining/teaching, cheers!

Great video! I'm a visual learner and I would say is that looking at the actual hardware installed on the end application and review of the schematics could be very helpful to understand and absorb all this information. Usually, schematics is the language we use to communicate this information. Also, selecting the hardware based on the application could be something the potentially will help people to narrow hardware options.

Some people will buy the controls and practice at their house. You can buy a training simulator as well. Some companies will hire you to help with wiring and you learn and grow with them.

Great video-thanks for going through this stuff. Can you please go through the commissioning process for the LONworks protocol? Maybe talk about LONworks vs. BACnet?

Any information on the communication between devices? Bacnet IP, Bacnet, P1, or P2? This seems hard for me to completely to understand. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey man great video. What's the purpose of an outside air damper? Is it just a filter? Or a way to close the vent?

The outside air damper allows outside air into the system, the damper regulates how much. Thanks for watching!
