'timing issues' poor helium

They wanted KI to win so bad. KI vs Helium, just read the comments. Resounding win for Heluim. 95/5 comments were for him. And on top of that, KI started with -2 points. They gave him point for a shitty vid and an awul front that made no sense. They've found timing issues in Helium's round. And did not value his video and front at all. But alright, we have to admit, that wasn't out of realm of possibilty. One could say it was close. And even this win, with an biiig stretch, almost circumventing their own rules wasn't THAT awful. Still, they persisted. KI vs DEN. This time commnets were like 99/1 in favor of DEN. BEGRUDGINGLY, they gave Den a win. Their disgust was palpable. They wanted to push KI forward so bad. But hey, all in all BBU was fucking great. Platinum fund of beatbox video. No other comp was even close to this level since then. And they paid from their own pockets for this.

@@OnionAddiction bbu was great, possibly the best comp in the last 3-4 years, the artists gave it their all, mostly high quality video, mostly regular upload times. I still rewatch the rounds.

In the livestream they did after I think they discussed this in more detail and felt that while people complained a lot about the scoring there weren’t too many decisions that most people wanted overturned and I think chat couldn’t think of too many battles they disagreed with the result. (Although he may have minimized the disagreement even more here.) The main ones I can think of were KI winning over Helium, Jordox’s wildcard ranking (though more people came over to him after just first two battles), and maybe Hiss winning over Den at the end. Dunno if I’m forgetting anything, I guess it would be interesting to compare the fan votes to the final winners.

And that is definitely because both Sxin and chezame are no friends anymore. Deleting or setting every video on private is just crazy. Seems like they had a lot of arguments in the end and ultimately ended their friendship.

Here is one outsiders humble opinion about the world of Beatbox. 1. It's an untapped market for what it could be and people like Chazame and Sxin helped bring new light to it. 2. A lot in this world fell into what most people are doing, social media trends. People feel they need to do trends and viral videos for views and they are beginning to realize that there is more in life and its not about views, but love for music and beatbox. 3. Some people in this industry took great advantage of many of those who helped get this community to where it is. This happens in many industries and it requires a shift and competition. Personally, I think something needs to come out and rival Swissbeatbox and also make an event that rivals GBB. Do that with a better run management and the industry will bounce back. If I had the money I'd do it! Lol

Regarding the natural looping thing: I think that's kind of what SBX wanted to go for with their new split between 'Loop' and 'Producer' but I suspect that it's *still* going to basically not resolve the controversies since the 505 MKII famously (As Brez and Rhythmind very publicly battle-argued over) can *also* do a lot of sequencing and if you look at someone like Inkie he can basically program so much with the sequencer even with one device he's never going to sound 'Natural Looping' at all i.e. His Flosstromo wildcard he literally takes less than 30 seconds of recording and sounds like a fully produced track all the way through afterwards. Plus I also kinda prefer the super produced loops instead: Personal taste of course but I think the more wild loopers are allowed to get the more creative directions they take and that's aways more exciting to me

I would love for looper to be able to prerecord all of their sounds and the just bring the tracks in during the routine like an actual song. It would make it much more enjoyable to listen to and give the loopers a lot more options. I would like to see the two categories being no effects whatsoever like Mb14 and then everything else including instruments ect. I really like the sound of all human voice and no effects on a music piece but I think that some of the producers stuff is cool, it just isn't much of beatbox anymore.

It really needs to be as Chezame says if people want pure vocal looping like MB14 mostly does, even the MK1 can change so much. (Inkie actually made a great video on this that no one watched “Where’s the Voice in Beatbox Looping?”)

@@Beorn-Dash Actually the 'no effects' looping would be a good opportunity to bring back looping tag teams because just having MB14 style single loopers would well, probably not yield a lot of people that can reach that level of talent plus while it was never too big of a problem MB14 did tend to use a good one third to even one half of his entire set just to set up his vocal harmonies when he used them heavily. So a tag team 'all natural' looping would be like taking some of the same concepts we're seeing in some of the incredible team songs lately but by using looping and 2 beatboxers to keep it more dynamic and such and well honestly, to have complementary skills and sounds since I don't think we'll have a line of MB14s ready with *that* level of talent to shine as an all natural looper it's a rather high barrier of entry. But well just thinking-while-typing a bit

@@dimitriid What I suggested was to allow loopers to prerecord their tracks so that when they preform the song starts from the beginning. I don't like battles tat much to begin with but loop battles are hardly battles there are never counters besides saying stuff. I think if we had more loop showcases it would be more enjoyable. You submit wildcards showing your style ect. and the ones that the event thinks will be the best fit they invite to preform. That way they can present actual music on the style they enjoy and if they prerecord it all then it will sound even better!

We need more beatbox for non beatboxers. I am a beatboxer but I will always prefer Berywam over D-Low. Also because the more layers on a track the better

@@aflow- Actually sound comparison. How many musicians do just a single layer in their music? Even solo pianists are playing 4,5 even 6 notes at the same time and have so much more flexibility with how they are played. That's why Berywam sounds so much better, they can have drums, bass melody, and lead vocals all at the same time. If they had more people they could expand even more-which is why in their album they recorded even more layers. Dlow on the other hand when he preforms just by himself is much more limited and has to get attention by doing crazy sounding noises instead of getting their attention with great music. Thats why we need less of this battling to see who sounds more inhuman and instead more focus on solid music with good principles, understanding that music has lots of layers.

Chezame whatever you content creators platform and promote is what gets emulated by the up and coming beatboxers. Try to spotlight beatpella and other beatboxers doing REAL music and pushing beatbox mainstream. That will be how beatbox gets better and more money.
