SXSW Interview: Kelly Rowland | SXSW Music 2016

GRAMMY winning singer, songwriter and actress Kelly Rowland sits down to discuss her career, both solo and as a member of one of the biggest R&B groups of all-time, Destiny’s Child. Kelly will also talk about her upcoming BET reality show Chasing Destiny. The new 10-episode series, which premieres April 5, Rowland will go on a quest to find the next big female superstar group.

I would kill to know who else auditioned for Destiny's Child who didn't make it and what they are up to. I know Tamar Davis was made to leave the group right before they got famous. I heard Keke Wyett auditioned and sang with them a couple of times.

not really....Keke Wyatt auditioned for Darryl simmons(Usher, tlc,etc) who was at that time A&R'ing music for girls tyme(who went by "THE DOLLS" at this point) while they were living in Atlanta..Darryl signed Keke who was 11 at the time as a client....he was struggling to get her signed to labels so he got Keke to open up for girls tyme on one of their showcasings and he was considering adding her to the group but Keke got stage fright and chickened out so Darryl dropped her........ as for other artists who auditioned for the original Girls tyme line-up..they were Judith Frankiln(BROADWAY SINGER), Jae Franklin(VOROSO ENTERTAINMENT-she's also Judith's younger sister) and Erin Stevenson(background singer for Janet Jackson's latest tour and Justin Timberlake) you can google all of them......they were all part of girls tyme when the original managers were marketing the group as an "OLD SCHOOL REVIEW"
