SYC history

I visited this yacht club in the late 1970,s and in keeping with the tradition of visiting yacht club members I presented them with a Berkeley Yacht Club burgee, which is a big blue "B" in a yellow circle on a blue background. I do not know if it is still there because of Hurricane Katrina but if it is, I hope a member sees this post and lets me know. I was horrified to see the club after Katrina and am glad that the new club house is even more grand. Maybe one day, I will pass through again.

I wish you a future of happiness and great racing! They hosted the top jr. Naple Sabot sailors from CA to compete in Optimists in mid 90's. I will always remenber the kindness of SYC members and the great sailors! Anna, Balboa Yacht Club.
