@@autobotrenegade221 They don't have the balls to do that. John Price is the best soldier on the planet. Court martial him is like folding in a poker game when you have a full House. With his small team, he stopped the biggest terrorist the world has ever seen(zakaiev). When America was getting their ass kicked on their own home turf, he told his superiors to go f*** themselves and went and shot a large EMP missle into the sky and evened the odds. Started the best black ops task force in the whole world (141). Took on an entire army of trained killers (Sheppard's men) When most of his boys were dead. Stopped WWlll. And hanged the an even worse terrorist than Zakaiev and had a smoke while watching his dangled body.

Im starting to think that this was basically the mission that got roach and ghost killed. After this mission Sheperd realized that he cannot control price and everybody in the task force are willing to follow cpt price.

This might be a reason but the main reason is that Shepherd wanted to take all the credits to himself so he decided to kill Ghost and Roach, make them look like war casualties, then tried to get rid of the only people who are aware of his betrayal, Price and Soap

This mission was when he needed Price and 141 gone RIGHT NOW but he already had been trying to get them killed on suicide missions and danger close bombardments since they know too much and aren't entirely loyal to Shepherd. Remember when he bombed "the task force" in the first mission with Allen? He also had the Navy try to level the Gulag on top of Price and Soap, but they managed to escape.

Next level : Contingency Game : Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Character : Gary "Roach" Sanderson Team : Task Force 141 Place : 14 miles SSE of Petropavlovsk, Russia. Date : Day 5 (August 14th), 2016 - 11:22:34 After Captain Price is rescued from the Russian gulag, he carries out a plan to end the war in the United States. Task Force 141 must secure a route to a docked submarine at the Rybachiy naval base, which is near Petropavlovsk, Russia. The mission begins with Roach and Price taking out patrols in the snowy woods and following his instructions to avoid alerting them. The player will frequently encounter groups of two or more enemies. At one point a BTR-80 will attack and the player must follow Price into the woods to avoid its fire. Roach eventually regroups with the task force and initiates an attack on the nearby sub base. Predator Missiles can be used against the defending helicopter, tanks, transport trucks and infantry to a devastating effect. Price heads to the submarine, while Roach and Ghost defend the area from approaching enemies. Ghost, who is unaware of Price's plans, warns Price that the sub's missile silo doors are opening, but he is shocked to learn that this was Price's doing. Price launches an SLBM into the upper atmosphere where it detonates, creating an EMP which disables electronic devices all across the eastern United States. The EMP succeeds in pacifying some of the most intense fighting around Washington D.C and ensures the survival of Sergeant Foley and his men from the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment in Washington D.C. I love the energy of this mission and Ghost going ballistic over the radio. It gives a sense of urgency and pressure. Helps the adrenaline rush. Also I love Cpt. Price, his wisdom far exceeds shepherds.

Only to send an EMP to Washington DC, leveling the playing field between the Russians & the Americans. The US troops were outnumbered, outgunned. The Russians had the upper hand until the EMP fried everything besides guns with iron-sights.
