Great post Thank you. 🙂 I was a teenage fan when this was first recorded. The early lineup with Syd, and Gilmore's later group are totally different bands, you cannot compare them. I like them both, BUT, it is just like trying to compare the Peter green band with the later FMac. Or Peter Gabriel's Genesis with the Collins years. There doesn't have to be a "best" lineup, they all made great music.

O Paul McCartney pensou que os Beatles passariam o bastão para o Pink Floyd, mas acabaram passando para o Led Zeppelin
@MyDavidlima Жыл бұрын
q bastão? Oq essa boys band poderia passar p PF? O Pink Floyd criou o heavy metal, o doom metal, o punk, o grunge, e tudo. Existe a música antes e depois do PF. Os beatles e seus agentes iam no underground aprender a fazer músicas geniais. Eles tentaram imitar o PF e ser rockão. Nunca conseguiram. Os donos deles boicotam e mentiram sobre PF desde 63. Lad zeooelin, black sabbath, deep purple e todas as grandes bandas não consideram os beatles. São todos grandes fãs de PF. Sai c essa bosta de boys band p lá;

syd was an artist, the rest are musicians...I'd bet Syd wrote songs because his mind was telling him all the time what has to be done until he did it, the others wrote songs because they thought people might like them like that, and had deals with record companies, obligations....

The healthy Syd Barrett was very creative. Syd and Pink Floyd went well together. The first album The Piper..... is a good record. Unfortunately Syd had the wrong friends. His bad times started in the shared flat where Syd lived. He hung out too much with junkies. If you take LSD several times a week it's not good for your brain. Syd's second solo album is better than Pink Floyd's records 2, 3 and 5. Syd Barrett could have become something real!!! He failed as a painter and musician. I'm interested in how Syd lived with his illness???

when pink floyd wasnt boring ish..i know i will get a bunch of thumbs down, but its true..If they weren't so good they would almost be boring minus a few really really good songs..but for some reason they aren't...I guess they became more mesmerizing after Barrett..not a bad thing,,just less trippy and completely different.

what a freaking nonsense you're talking about dude? yes of course syd is less hated, but compared to waters era, there's no comparison in musicality. Syd music styles is not compelling to me

I don't find it normal that Syd Barret is considered a genius, I don't really see where this character is talented, in fact we can't talk about talent when we compose music and write lyrics under the influence of drugs ( acid, LSD…). Worse still, you only need to look at Syd Barret's appearance and face to understand that he had serious psychological problems. The album “the piper at the gates of dawn” although it had mixed success in Great Britain, was not successful in the United States. As for the second album, “A Saucerful of Secrets” was a relative failure. The true geniuses of the Pink Floyd group are Roger Waters and David Gilmour: you just have to listen to albums like “Dark Side of the Moon” and “Wish You Were Here” to be convinced!

Brian May was a busy man. He was the lead guitarist of Queen, and he was also a world-renowned astrophysicist. He was always on the go, and he didn't have time for anything else. One day, Brian was walking down the street when he saw an old woman sitting on a bench. She was crying, and she looked like she was in pain. Brian stopped and asked her what was wrong. The old woman told Brian that she had just lost her husband. He had been her only family, and she didn't know what she was going to do without him. Brian felt sorry for the old woman, and he offered to help her. Brian took the old woman to Starbucks, and got her a coffee. He sat down with her and listened to her talk about her husband. The old woman told Brian stories about their life together, and Brian listened with rapt attention. As the old woman talked, Brian started to feel a strange sensation. It was a warm, tingling feeling that started in his chest and spread to the rest of his body. He didn't know what it was, but he liked it. The old woman eventually stopped talking, and Brian looked at her. She was smiling, and there was a twinkle in her eye. Brian smiled back, and he leaned in and kissed her. The old woman's lips were soft and warm, and Brian felt a surge of passion. He kissed her harder, and he ran his hands through her hair. The old woman kissed him back, and Brian felt like he was in heaven. Suddenly, he pulled away from the old woman and saw that she was holding a tissue to her nose. She had a huge booger hanging out of her nose, and she was about to wipe it on Brian's face. Brian was disgusted, but he couldn't look away. He watched in horror as the old woman wiped the booger on his face. The booger was slimy and wet, and it smelled terrible. Brian gagged, but he couldn't stop the old woman. Finally, the old woman finished wiping the booger on Brian's face. She smiled at him and said, "There, now you'll never forget me." Brian was so disgusted that he ran away from the old woman. He didn't stop running until he was home. He took a shower and scrubbed his face until his skin was raw. Brian never saw the old woman again, but he never forgot her. He would often wake up in the middle of the night, covered in sweat, and with the taste of booger in his mouth.
