It's an absolute gem of an album and sounds great on 180-gram vinyl.

@@StripeyR i forgot to mention in the comment, try Neil Young solo. Some great albums. I like the acoustic ones the best, like Harvest, Harvest Moon, Comes A Time, After The Goldrush, Tonight's The Night, Hitchhiker, On The Beach. By the way: a very good impersonation of The Godfather.

Nice review Stripey. Genius is an often used phrase but one Syd deserves, a pioneer of psychedelia. The box set is wonderful and a review of that would be good. Neil Young?, American Stars 'N Bars was the first one I got, the one with Like A Hurricane!!

What a great album. In a lot of ways, it's much more cohesive and much more "put together" than the Madcap Laughs. I love the cover, and especially that Harvest label design. I've just tried looking it up on the Reckless Records web site and it said "sorry, we find no items matching Syd Barrett", and "sorry, we find no items matching "Pink Floyd"... fuck's sake.....well, gotta go out there at lunch today, that's all there is to it.

Yes your gotta get madcap laughs (at the man on the boarder) i always do that. It's a great album but you should know that it's very difficult to pick however I would say I prefer it to barret thought this changes from day to day. I almost got the album from the second hand record shop quit near me but it was in absolutely pissy quality. It looked as thought a child with a set of keys was roaming about the house and this album happened to be lying around and he decided he would have his merry way with it. This was of course with nan who i managed to get into the Floyd as in properly not just the wall we had a long conversation about syd while in the car after listening to piper.

Top video mate 👍🏻something that’s been bothering me for years.The Damned had a song in 86 called “Gigolo”. Is that song a kinda small tribute to Syd ? I can’t find any info if so . The chorus is very similar kinda lol
