I don't see anyone else saying this, so I'll share the knowledge: it varies, but some Airbnbs will have the host living in the same space. they should list it on their listing if they're a good Airbnb, and whether or not they'll be social or not/you can probably request to not be social if you want. I've stayed in a room in someone's apartment twice, one time I talked with the owner a ton and him and his wife were super nice (had cute cats too) and the other time I stayed with this grad student I NEVER saw the woman (but i did see her cute doggies) it really ranges so much lol but generally they will list that information and it's normal and of course ppl only pick that if they're comfortable (I was with my partner both of these times, I'd never do that on my own lmaoo)

But that's the fun of art. We're not all going to agree. 😁 This was fun! And what cute fur babies! 🐾 🥰

I also did not like Finlay but for different more personal reasons. The depiction of motherhood is so bleak! I get it because that's sort of the premise of the book being a harried single mom but ugh, it was such a downer to read those parts. And the rest of the book wasn't fun enough to make up for it. There are better more fun mysteries out there!

I gave Finlay Donovan 2 stars. Never understood the high ratings. Very frustrating beyond belief with the MC decision making. She was ditzy and I just felt like reaching through the pages and shaking her. The romances were idiotic. I can suspend disbelief with any book but it was just so silly. Can you tell I didn't like it!

Later on if you’re looking for worst books in 2024 so far mine is city of bones by Cassandra Claire. I rated it 3 stars. I know this is meant more for middle schoolers and young teens so I understand why I probably didn’t like it. Because I am an older teen adult. If you like this book or have already read it that’s ok too.

Riley Sager is a great writer and he knows how to work thriller tropes and twists. Every new book he picks a thriller / horror trope and puts his spin on it - final girl, summer camp, haunted house, drunk unreliable witness - and the story may sound absurd, but never boring.
