Good objective overview. Looks like a carefully designed and well built boat. Thanks.

Is the stern rudder suitable for downwind? I know that you need a bottom or ocean rudder that is tilted towards the bow so that it does not hang in the air on the wave. I am wrong ?

G’day Alex, the Audax goes downwind very much like a ski. The rudder works well, but like an ocean ski the bow tracks hard. If you click on this link you’ll see a downwinder on a very steep windy day. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYKme3Wie999Y6csi=PrjMU92XdY00bU7W

@@MarkSundin Very cool! I want the same. I'm thinking about buying surf skis (length 5.6 * 0.5 m and weight 16 kg). What better surf ski than a classic lightweight kayak? I understand about the ocean rudder and the ability to quickly return to the boat if it capsizes. But I'm wondering if it's easy to start and maintain a kayak? How much does your kayak weigh and what are its dimensions? What is the minimum wave height at which you can start surfing? Now I was asking about the option if I don’t buy a surf-ski, but buy the lightest sit-in kayak. Thanks in advance for your answers!

At 52cm this is a skinny boat, only 1cm wider than a V8 Pro, and 2cm less than a V8. With that in mind, how stable is the Audax for a big and tall(high CoG) paddler when in long distance expedition mode?
