When I went to Bangladesh in 2016, I found, Syhlet is a very interesting place because of it's more dynamic geography, historical importance as spiritual and cultural center, and somewhat distinct culture. The Tea Gardens, Jaflong (I've heard its best seen during monsoon season), Ratagul swamp forest, and the various ancient mosques and ruins like in Shankarpasha or Jaintapur are places to see for which I recommend. An interesting quirk of the region is that Sylhet compared to other parts in Bangladesh is very influenced by its diaspora population and that's because a its very huge. I think like 1/10 of Sylhetis live outside of Bangladesh and represent a rather large number of Bangladeshis overseas and those of Bengali ancestry in other countries, particularly in the UK hence you might find that something you notice as well.

As you say, Sylhet is a place to visit for at least a couple of days, having so much to offer. We could spend there just one day since we had to come back to Dhaka the next day. If we can stay in Bangladesh for longer, we will try to cover more destinations ❤️ thank you for the valuable comment!

This has to be the best vlog so far, fantastic work guys. Loved the drone footage and lovely Arial view of srimongal tea plantation. It’s a bout 30 mins drive from Moulvibazar. Love a nice cool coconut drink in this beautiful weather, you guys are in Bangladesh during the perfect season hence the calm weather ! I visited one of the tea gardens in SriMangal and did a picnic in 1981 with our colleagues from the UK, USA, and other countries. It was at the end of December or January don't remember and was pretty cold in the morning. The tea garden managers invited us for a drink and shown how they work. That was my first eng. job in a British Company, which was building a Fertilizer factory on the bank of the Meghna River called Ashgonj. after working for 2 years left again for higher studies in Europe and later immigrated to Canada in the '90s. Even James Finley Tea company offered me an engineering job in Chittagong and has to visit their factories in the Srimangal area, but did not join and left the country. Tea garden areas are one of the most beautiful places and most of the teas grow in the mountains and valleys of Sylhet and I think some areas in Chittagong. all foreigners should visit Tea Gardens to see the beauty of Bangladesh.
