My early teen years were spent dreaming about this game, then saving pocket change every day until I could buy the game in a local game shop I accidentally found out, and then playing it over and over again. I got stuck at the DaVinci lab for quite a while but that did not demotivate me. I could just spend hours looking at the postcard sized viewport on my blurry CRTs screen, because everything was so beautiful, refreshing and innovative. i really hope the Presto guy would remaster the game, with a larger viewport, upscaled graphics and upsampeled audio.

This soundtrack is so quintessentially 90s I absolutely love it - always kind of reminded me of the music from Babylon 5 actually. But it was night and day compared to the basic MIDI soundtracks so many other games from this time period had, which required hundreds of dollars in Roland or Yamaha equipment to sound like anything other than generic synth noise. This is quite possibly one of the best adventure games ever made. I remember it came bundled with my family's first computer in 1995 - a Macintosh Performa, great big chonkin all in one box of a machine. I've explored the adventure genre thoroughly since then but I keep coming back to this game. It feels so immersive despite the tiny, tiny viewing size, the cluttered UI that takes up like 2/3 of the screen, and all its other technical limitations. Just the way that the story unfolded organically by reading journal entries, finding messages on an answering machine, watching TV... same with the puzzles, they all felt connected to the worlds they were in, solveable by reading the engravings on a temple wall or picking up drawings left in a studio or finding a letter discarded in a hurry... in a way this game ruined a lot of the other big games from this time because after playing this, they all felt really shallow.

Someone gave me this game when I was was about 10. I was too young to understand the puzzles and the gameplay, but I was intrigued by it. 22 years later I somehow recalled the game and it was the best $5 download I've ever had. Such an amazing story with puzzles and sountrack to match.

You recalled it because your younger self traveled to the future and imprinted the memory engrams in your head. Your younger self was better at the game than you remember...at the moment.

First played this on an old 486 with 8MBs of RAM (upgraded from 4), running Windows 3.1. It was one of the only games I had at the time, and I played it to death. Had never played the first game (only recently had the chance thanks to GOG), and so the game's story and setting had this fantastic mystique to it; there was always something around the next corner, always something I might have missed, always some death screen I had yet to find. Having played a host of adventure games since... Buried in Time remains one of the best; the best balance of logical puzzles, fantastic atmosphere, varied scenery and gripping story, with just enough threat of failure to keep the player absolutely hooked. Always disappointed me that the third game removed the death screens, and let the player talk to characters - there was a wonderful sense of tension associated with trespassing in the second game; knowing that if ANYONE saw you, you'd change history and it was game over. It created wonderful moments of dread, and pockets of safety - the contrast between the oxygen-depleting panic of the stricken space station, and the calm, secluded nature of the Da Vinci lab... followed once more by the jarring realisation that you weren't alone in the studio; that somebody nefarious was up in the tower... Truly brilliant pacing.

That was almost exactly my story, but I played in Windows 95, and had upgraded the pc to 8mb ram, a sound blaster card and a 10x cd drive, which the game required.

Oh man, this is seriously one of my favorite games and soundtracks of all time. I remember finding one time that someone had made a soundtrack rip complete with album art for a cd insert. I've been looking for this for years on youtube. Thank you! I remember the game itself even came with a catalogue to buy the soundtrack and mug and jacket and other swag. Thank you!

I remember getting Journeyman project turbo , it came with a cd rom my dad bought for our old gateway pc , and it had a preview trailer for buried in time, I remember going to an old store called Egghead Software with my dad to get it soon as we finished JMP Turbo, and it didn't disappoint. I always come back to listen to this wonderful soundtrack, or watch playthroughs, loved Arthur, my favorite map was Chateau Gaillard, I just loved this game, When JMP turbo was redone and put on steam I was kinda hoping this game would also get the same treatment.

God I love this game and this soundtrack. Minor point, but the audio stings in 'Space Station I' belong with 'Space Corridors.' (Also, there's a missing track for the Mayan temple gorge, and 'temple ritual chamber' is actually the antagonist's lair in the future)

I love all the Journeyman games. Played and beat them all in the 1990s. Journeyman Project 1992, Journeyman Buried in Time 1995 and Journeyman Legacy of Time 1998. Great soundtracks for sure. I always thought there should have been a Journeyman Movie based off of these games but unfortunately it has not happened yet. Wow but that would be epic.

I always turn this OST on when I'm doing house projects. Brings back memories of my brother and I playing this game in the 90s. I remember the snow days and having a day off from school...my bro and I would wake up at 6:00am to play this game.

@@syllogism No joke I first created this KZbin account in 2006 in order to comment around Journeyman Project videos so that I might eventually find this. I have strayed far beyond that original goal, commenting on things that at the time I never could have imagined would exist. I have watched age restricted wonders and danced in the fires of the alt-right. But now the cycle is complete. Thanks to you, I may rest.
