When doing the border around with the white trim, how many inches does that add? I am trying to make this to cover her new ostomy bag bump so she feels more comfortable in public. She needs about 4-5 more inches. If the border doesn’t accomplish that would it take away from the integrity of the garment to add more border?

Hi Kate. When we did the 3 rows on the three sides at the end of part 1 you can add more then 3 rows to get more width in the front and back. The trim adds 1.5” to each side in the front so 3” all together. You could add more trim, but your collar will also get bigger. And if everything else fails you can also make the hexagons bigger. I sure hope this helped you and I hope your cardigan will come out nice.🥰

@@SYLVIAHappyhobbyCROCHETING123 thank you so much! I’m already on the second sleeve. I had her try it on when I finished the first sleeve and noticed how she needed more coverage over her pouch. I’ll give a go to more rounds to the finishing trim and pray that helps. It is fitting her like a glove and she is thrilled with it so far. I already want to do another one of your cardigans for myself. Thank you so much for all you do.

Hi Linda. Assuming that your hexagons are correct you are basically trying to fold the hexagons so they look like an “L”. fold one corner on top of the other. look at the “origami granny jacket” video. i fold the two pieces very slowly. I hope you can see it there and I hope everything will work out for you 🥰

Linda! I had this same problem! But when I folded the corners that were three away from each other it worked. But you have to be sure there’s 6 corners and not only 5. 💪🏼
