Jesse, I think without a doubt that all of humanity is re-member-ing, as in putting back together what already is, this way of being. But it is so hard to remember when the way back is not something authentically in front of you. It's almost like we in the west are trying to remember our parents yet, we haven't been home in so long we don't even know what they look like. Maybe....

25:00 - I am not Orthodox, I am an American Catholic (I guess with a traditional bent). This is a difficult thing I had to come to terms with. The Founding Fathers had a very flawed understanding of the world, if not heretical. Thomas Jefferson, who was once my favorite Founding Father, wrote a bible that basically stripped any symbolic or spiritual content. The U.S. was set up in an unstable place, with one foot in Christianity and one foot in the Enlightenment, so that the country ever since has been in a constant state of tearing itself apart trying to find a stable point.

(As far as it's possible to have three feet), the foundation of America also had another foot in the esoteric with a number of the Founding Fathers being Freemasons. America's founding is fascinating because it's complex but relatively recent enough that we can still see the making of it.

Yes, you are bang on. The founding fathers based their philosophy on a heretical theological view of man and government. (Doctrine of natural rights.) then they turned around and tried to make a completely secular government, which is the same government that they based on bad theology. Completely contradictory way of thinking.
