My bad family. I’m 49. For some unknown reason I deducted 10 years. I couple of people pointed out the math ain't mathing😂 Funny enough I never remember my age and have to ask my wife for it. A mindset attributed to Einstein says you don’t have to remember things you can easily look up.

I will say this. I'm 42, with over 17 years of IT experience. Every time I see one of Symone's videos, I smile. I said many years ago tech is a gateway for people of color to make a great career. I admire all y'all, & wish y'all all the best on your endeavors. BTW your never too old. Im getting my AWS DevOps. See y'all in the cloud 🫡✌🏾

Stay blessed Simone and understand this…for many people that look like us, it’s hard to believe the truth of our success. After being manipulated so many times by others we tend be too unforgiving. And sadly it’s not us doing the manipulation. The worst part of being truthful is when (YOU ) look like the truth and people still don’t listen to you..not even through testimonies. I look forward to learning from you and pushing you towards that millionaire status!!

Really beneficial interview. Great motivation. Sometimes I kick myself because I enrolled at capital in 97' for computer info systems & was interested in what was computer forensics at the time. Moved to Philly, screwed around & didn't finish college. Over the last 6 yrs I've made over 100k $ as a maintenance tech/ welder in nuclear power plants. However, I've always been interested in Cyber and here I am at 40 + yrs old in a Cyber boot camp trying to break in the industry . I could have been a vet in the industry by now. I literally remember sitting in visual basic & windows 95 classes🤦🏾‍♂️. God has a plan for us all and my path has been long & obstacle filled but I'm gonna make it. My drive & zeal for networking & Cyber won't let me quit. Sorry for the long post, thanks for the motivation. ✊🏾💯

Im a 16 yro junior in highschool with about 12 college credits and I'll have 12 more next school year. I was thinking of going to Georgia Tech for computer science and then pursuing cybersecurity after. But after looking at the required math I've been thinking otherwise because I hate math. Should I bear through the math and go to college or start getting certifactions and try to get an internship next year?
@MarcusCarey
@MarcusCarey 3 ай бұрын
I always tell any that there are no rules. Internships are the most important thing you can do to get a career. On this interview I mention reverse engineering the requirements for the job roles you are pursuing. So with internships make sure your degree program is appropriate for the internships. Also make sure that the job you want to break into after graduation is aligned with that degree. Don't worry about the college name brands, although some colleges will get more internship opportunities. There is also the possibility of you starting a entry level security role and attend college part-time as you pursue your degree. Again there are no rules and you gotta evaluate the pros and cons of things. Keep moving forward and crushing it, and I'll see you at the top.
