The military is so easy and all of these tech jobs that you could do in the civilian world you could do in the military get the experience and be chosen before non-military individuals when it comes to getting government jobs. Also join the military you automatically get a secret clearance and depending on your job you can put in to get a top-secret clearance which will help you significantly when you get out. I am a 46v, my job is not tech related at all but the military can send me to a week or two long class just to get whatever cert I want and it's paid for by the Army.

Federal Contractors are NOT Government employees. It is not the same thing. Contractors work for private industry companies who bid on contracts with the govt. They can lay you off at anytime (with little to no notice) and can also lose contracts or not win re-competition. Federal Civilian employees have the stability. I have been on both sides of the coin and the Federal Civilian Employee side wins hands down.
