Hell yeah! Like I said this was a pretty straight forward metal introduction for them, but they can go all over the place. I just love how simple and effective the main riff of this song is. Cant wait to see what song of theirs you check out next.

Symphony X "Paradise Lost" great album, there's a song on there called "Serpent's kiss" which is really good. You might want to check it out as well. They also did a tour with Dream Theater.

Their lead singer Russell Allen is also the lead singer for Adrenaline Mob and has also done guest vocals on Anthony Arjen Lucassen's Ayreon and Star One projects. He's also done 4 collaborative albums with Norwegian singer Jørn Lande. Michael Romeo, the guitarist from Symphony X just released his second solo album this year and from what I've heard it's really good.

What I like with you is that I discover artists I wasn't aware of, and I thank you for that. And of course, I like the way you react, it's really cool. ------------- I would like to make 2 special suggestions almost no one will give you: 2 bands: The Warning: start with "survive" at TedX, and then "21st century blood" official video. They have a new song called "dust to dust" which is incredible. Motion Device: "thick skin" and then "doves and snakes'. There's a reason almost no one knows them, but they still are amazing! You'll see it by yourself. React to them and I will explain you why so good musicians are so unknown... Thanks a lot and enjoy! P.S. Kind of surprised you had never heard Symphony X! If I may recommend some songs I would have to go for The Oddysey, The Divine Wings of Tragedy, Through the Looking Glass, Revelation (Divvus Pinnae ex Tragoedia), Rediscovery pt. 2, Reign In Madness, Charon. To name just a few off the top of my head.

Russell Allens vocals are always on fucking point. One of the best in metal imo. Good stuff dude! I'm still going to suggest that you check out The Waiting Room - Black Breath. :)

The Odyssey - much more progressive Kiss of Fire - Similar to this, a bit heavier Paradise Lost - A little more progressive but a softer side They get compared to dream theater because they go across the metal spectrum the same way dream theater does. They can have 20 minute epics, 6 minute straight metal songs, ballads, and everything in between. Another great band.

The singer it's there with Jorn Lande, ex Axel Rudi Pell singer Johny Gioeli and Roy Khan. He is not the best live among the others. The one that I have to admit as the best on live is Bruce Dickinson. But yeah the 3 aforementioned are like the true heirs of DIO

@@markblaauw4961 Happy you enjoyed it! Both DT and Symphony X came up around the same time so hard to say if either are influenced by each other. Symphony X has always been a bit more Neoclassical and Metal (especially metal in their more recent releases) and a little less proggy than Dream theater overall. Not to say that they are aren't proggy. If you want a proggier album check out V: The New Mythology Suite or Twilight in Olympus. They are one of my favorite bands and I believe they are currently working on a new album so that's exciting! Happy listening!

HIGHLY recommend "Lunatic Soul" song from "Lunatic Soul" album of "Lunatic Soul" band. This is a solo project of the "Riverside" leader vocalist . There is no official video to this song but track itself will make you think of creating one.

I hate when people's first intro to this band, takes place on their post-Odyssey albums. They went drastically downhill once they lost the "symphony" portion of their name in the mid-2000's.

Walls of Babylon man , awesome and cohesive prog song from them from the same album full of riffs and and insane solo. When all is lost is probably one of the best Russel Allen vocal performances. Their older stuff is just a pretentious prog metal/rock that others do it better.
