Yeah, Symphony X is a real gem of a band. Fantastic musicians, all of them. You could blind pick anything, they really don't have much in the way of subpar songs or albums.

Russell Allen is my favorite male vocalist ever. He's got so many timbres he can apply, brings so much soul and grit, but his clean vocals are just beautiful as well. I mean, he deserves better than that run-on sentence, but he's such a great singer.

That's my favorite record. Symphony x V, Blind guardian Nightfall in middle-earth, Edge of sanity Crimson 2, and Silentium sufferion : hamartia of prudence are my best concept albums so far.

I like every song from "The Damnation Game" through "The Odyssey". It's not until "Paradise Lost" that I start to skip songs. Here's a few gems from their early days: • The Edge of Forever • The Accolade • Through the Looking Glass

You should definitely listen to the whole album, but The Odyssey (the song) should have a reaction here, it's mind blowing.

I can tell you with all confidence that they have never released a bad album... So anything you want to check is gonna be an absolute killer song... I can recommend some stuff I like a lot though: - First 2 records's production is not the best so for now you should avoid them - Album: The divine wings of tragedy - Recs: The Eyes of Medusa and The Divine Wings of Tragedy - V - Evolution and Egypt - Iconoclast - Iconoclast and Children of a Faceless God - Underworld - Nevermore and Without You It's hard to pick songs from each album because I honestly like everything Also, it can be useful to know that MIchael Romeo, one of the guitar players has a record studio at home. The albums Twilight in Olympus and V were partially recorded there, and since The Odyssey fully recorded there, and all those are, I think, a lot better produced. The Divine Wings of Tragedy has a production that makes it sound a bit thrashy, which is awesome, but different to the ones to come.

this is the first symphony x song i listened to. i was like, what is this?? is this japanese song? (cuz i listened a lot of japanese rock/music from games and anime etc like guilty gear) it sounded so exotic and fresh. slightly prog and very thick tonality and timbre. loved it!

This is an awesome record. I got to see "The Odyssey" live right before the pandemic hit, and it was one of the biggest metal moments of my life. Really glad you're doing the whole record - it deserves no less.

Have you ever heard of DGM? Super progressive band with insane guitar riffs and killer vocals! The best is their live in MILAN video first two songs the secret 1 and 2. Just this will blow you so far away that you will wonder why this band is not super popular. I think that they have bad management or something because the talent and sound is so perfect and amazing. Kick ass would be an understatement! This band is so good that I must recommend that you do a reaction from the live show. The first two songs the secret 1 and 2. This alone will seal the deal! You will wonder why is this band not top of the world? They are that good!

My favourite band since i was 18 im now 36 and had the blessing to see them here in Australia in 2015 on their first tour here, was surreal to see them in person.

For me, this was peak Symphony X. Albums before this tended to go way too far off the Progressive "deep end" and just seemed like exercises in being different for the sake of being different, at the expense of actual melody. Albums after this got way to fast and heavy, almost leaving behind that melodic element once again. This album is where it all seemed to balance out. But... you were slightly wrong in the beginning. The concept element really begins and ends at one sing, "The Odyssey" around the half way mark in the album.
