Has always been one of my favorite Symphony X songs, and really for just the rhythm, and one simple line in the song. I thought the lyrics were something else before I started reading them. But regardless, the song still has powerful meaning.
"For whom the God's destroy, they first make mad
Receiving the sun, and falling like hourglass sand"
Falling like hour glass sand... That was an analogy I've never heard before. It's a great way to vision your future and enduring your times. But the catch is it's flying by faster than you can handle. Than you can process. Too fast in any form. Day by day, while I was at basic training that line stuck in my brain. Because basic was the longest 10 weeks of my life. But it inspired me to think that every day was passing effortlessly despite the challenges I was facing, and that it was going to be over soon enough.
Lyrics: www.sing365.com...
Child of the oceans I am, walking on the waves
Stirring the pools, I silence and calm the tides to a glaze
Touched by a vision of love, her beauty recognized
Elusive to me, progressions are now violence in disguise
On a quest for light, and braving the seas
Chasing the morning star, wait for me...
Now I'm blinded, this vision I cannot see
I cannot see my future destiny
Ohh...the hunter looks at you with eyes to kill
Praying for your life-the mighty rage against the still
For whom the God's destroy, they first make mad
Receiving the sun, and falling like hourglass sand
Child of the sea I am, in starlight I reside
Glow silver and white, eternal and bright in the sky
On a quest for light, and braving the seas
Chasing the morning star, wait for me...
Now I'm blinded, this vision I cannot see
I cannot see my future destiny
Ohh...the hunter looks at you with eyes to kill
Praying for your life-the mighty rage against the still
Ohh...the hunter looks at you with eyes to kill
Praying for your life-the mighty rage against the still
Ohh...the hunter
Ohh...the hunter
Ohh...the hunter
I'm the hunter
