It was refreshing to see an interview where KB is treated respectfully, not patronised or objectified. So many treat her as an oddity or a temptress and that saddens me. This man treated her like the gifted musician that she is. It was very nice to watch and was one of the only interviews I've seen where she looked truly comfortable. Thanks to whoever uploaded it.

@@tricksyfroggy Calling her devastatingly and outrageously attractive and gorgeous is patronising and objectifying? Wow ...
@tricksyfroggy5 жыл бұрын
@@624radicalham yes, absolutely... i mean, i shouldnt have to explain why saying that kind of thing to a stranger on the street is frowned upon as "catcalling". sure its nice, but its definitely unwelcoming for people to be so concerned with an artists appearance over their art
@624radicalham5 жыл бұрын
@@tricksyfroggy Catcalling is horrible and disrespectful. And no. Comment sections on social media don't compare to live catcalling. Commenting on a person's appearance is human nature. Russell Crowe was just on a talk show. All of the comments are about how fat he is. Is it right? Not really. But he IS fat. Too fat for his own good. So it can be said. This is human nature and it's not going to change no matter how many social justice warriors want it to. Just like violence. It's ingrained in human beings. It always was and always will be. What can be done is teaching new behavior so 'catcalling' and school shootings are not done. But saying someone is gorgeous and hot, and beautiful and has big or small breasts, or tall legs, or hair or no hair, lost too much weight, gained too much weight ... that's not going to happen. Kate Bush was an artist, is an artist, and a great one. The 70's were full of demeaning women in interviews. Not done anymore in interviews. But saying she's gorgeous and has nice whatever is NOT objectifying a woman .. are a man for that matter. The real problem is over sensitivity and getting offended over everything. Which you haven't done. But too many people do, and it starts with this silliness of saying that complementary commenting on a person's appearance is patronizing and objectifying.

She was/is supremely talented as a singer/songwriter, musician, dancer and entertainer. Her lyrics were often psychologically insightful and infused with a semantic magic that seduced your senses into submission before you'd even realised you were under attack. She was also, without any doubt, astonishingly beautiful. I don't really see any point in denying that fact in the name of equality.

The interviewer asked about her vocal cords and how she's taking care not to hurt them around 1:10. Kate mentions her vocal coach who keeps an eye on her voice. after listening to two of her albums in full(hounds of love has become one of my favorite albums of all time), i have never heard her speaking voice. This is not what i expected, but i am not disappointed. Hearing her voice makes me like her even more cause i find it funny that a literal genius like herself has such a casual voice like this, it is comforting actually

Has there ever been a bad word said about her? No drugs, no arrests for dumb shit, no scandal. Just a artist.

2eoghancallaghy2634 No hard drugs. Session musos said she didn't mind the odd joint at the studio.

listening to how she answered that last question sent shivers around my skin....look at how far she's gotten, and with the answer she made, she profoundly deserves the places she was put onto & where she is in now
