@@beemonique8466 I believe that would be your value cover gasket leaking . Or that's what it was on my 328xi 2007 E90 n52.

Excellent series of videos from this guy. I would add when you change the PCV valve it's best to clean out although related hoses with intake because they may contain oil from the faulty PCV valve causing premature failure of a new PCV. Intake cleaner is fierce so perhaps change the engine oil too.

Hi, I checked live data on my 10 year old Acura and STFT was around +6% and LTFT around +3% at idle. I was checking for some minor vacuum leak and inspected hoses and all of them have factory paint markers on them and look pretty good and in good shape too. The throttle body looks clean as well. The PCV valve from the outside looks clean and seems to have been replaced, but I haven't taken it out to check. No clogged PCV valve symptoms. Any other ideas why fuel trims are a bit high, although still within specs, I guess.

Question? 06 330i I replaced both disa valves, vanos solenoids, cleaned vanos filters, spark plugs, and an injector. Got her idling issues pretty much solved. Currently no codes but I hear a bonking noise under the intake. Is this normal or is there something else I should be looking for? Thanks you're videos have saved my ass! 🤣

Did you figure it out ? I bought a new ccv from Fcp euro ( non oem ) … I don’t know if it failed or not. My mechanic did the oil pan gasket and clutch at the same time. No leaks , no smoke on start up… just some smoke when i take off from a stop and oil consumption. Maybe it’s the valve guides ?

Are you talking about the PCV breather hose that goes from the back of valve cover to the PCV valve heater? The 3 way hose? That's the only thing I found on my 2010 BMW 328xi

Did your car shake when you got it up to operating temperature? Whenever I accelerated slowly it’ll shake real hard in 4th and 5th gear around 1800- 2200 rpms. I have oil leaking onto the manifold causing smoke from my good. As well as a lot of smoke from the exhaust when I start the car. Asking because I also have a 2010 328i

Quick question. 2007 bmw 328xi e90 n52 what is the electronic looks like a pcv value on a Chevy but it's electronic. Following the hose from the valve cover it runs underneath the intake and Y's off the first plugs into a container at the bottom of intake the other connects to this valve I'm referring to which screws the that same box underneath the intake. Only two wires go to it .. anyone have a idea please reply.

Can a faulty crankcase cause oil to get to the spark plugs and does a faulty pcv crank case cause the car to shake especially when the ac is turned on?

If you turn ac on a lot and cars shaking you need to add coolant and bleed step on gas for ten seconds remove cap and bleeder screw fill till waterfall out bleeder cap bleeder add more coolant put cap back on step gas 10 seconds for round 2 . If still shaking coils but before that add oil and check filter if you got tool

Yes replace the spark plugs air filter do a normal maintenance oil change and coils if you can afford it. Do all of this at once, the failure is due to carbon buildup inside the motor

You sure do. It's a bitch and a half but doable, just make sure you torque the manifold back down correctly.

Hi mate, I have a bmw e93 325i , when I start the engine it sucks the engine cap, I checked the throttle bodie when I start, it doesn’t open properly when I Rev it, it doesn’t open properly and the engine whistles on the top of the rocker cover because of sucking air, do you think it’s an issue with either the rocker cover or throttle bodie or anything else Please help Thank you

You may have a solinoid ( electric valve) that turns off the vacuum to the breather that maybe stuck open. I owned a BMW 745li E66 and It showed a code . Remember on start up it's normal for that system to work and make that oil cap hard to remove.

im curious if this is the problem with my 06 325i. after driving short distance and upon slowing the engine has loud whistling noise and the car stalls when coming to stop as well as rough idle beforehand. I was told both by BMW technician (Roseville, CA) and from online inquiries that it was the valve cover, cost almost $600 and did nothing upon making this costly change. Of course this models value cover has no valuves in whatsoever and should have been a clue this was not the issue or solution. Least this video seems to replicate the whistking I am experiencing as well.

Whistling could be CCV/PCV failure it would suck air through the rear main seal for E90 and N5x/n4x petrol engines

EVERYONE I NEED YOUR ADVICE I own a 2001 BMW Z3 Roadster and I have reason to believe that this crankcase might be the issue for my rough idling and RPM rev experience. The symptoms are as follows *Rpm reving *Rough idle * A loud humming noise is coming from the passenger side for 1 minute when the car is started then subsides *The car doesn't accelerate as fast (almost like a delay or lack of power) * Recently I've been having to press the gas pedal further down in order to accelerate efficiently BUT THE CAR HAS NO SMOKE FROM EXHAUST whats-so-ever. could this crankcase still be the issue even though there is no smoke going out of the exhaust? after doing thorough research on every part that could cause such issues I feel like this has to be it but I'm still not sure can anyone give me any reassurance? Thank you for reading this far... Any advice will help!

Hi. I have some problem for rmp in BMW n54. Rpm in warm engine up 800rpm and dont move. In cold start everything is fine 620-650 rpm. Diagnostic in computer no codes no fouls. Not smoked. Trottelle is cleaned. Spark plug locks clean not oil leak. Coil normal not misfiring. Cleaned vanos solinoid, nothing change rpm 800 after cold start -20 min and rpm 800. Please help.

@@napacabbage4845 i am no expert, as far as i know the vacuum leak or HPFP could be your issue. Check the computer for any errors. If you see lean fuel ratio that is most likely vacuum leak

@Napa Cabbage I have the same problem, when driving it you have to pump the gas pedal hard to make it go and it barley helps. But for the most part all the symptoms you said are they same. So what was your problem, need all the advice I can get!

Take the whole mirror out and check the assembly. May be the emotor which folds the mirror, or just a worn gear wheel

It was the pcv got a euro parts cover and been perfect since. First time taking the vc off and ended up doing it twice in 5.5 hours so it’s very doable and simple.

Pcv is built into the VC. ... DO not buy the 8$ pcv and cut it out and do the install. Because there is more to the pcv than just the circle diaphragm, there is tubes and vents for the pcv that get clogged as well. So replace the whole VC.

It wasn't always like this. On earlier models such as E39's and E46's it's easier for instance. BMW, much like every other car manufacturer now, began going down hill, in BMW's case IMO around the mid 2000's. Mercedes went down hill around 2000. No single car manufacturer nowadays 'stands out' for building well engineered cars now in comparison to cars made in the 70's, 80's and 90's. In the 80's for example, BMW and Mercedes over engineered many of their models and were ahead of anyone else at the time in terms of balancing good engineering, design, reliability, quality and performance, and made them a joy to work on and drive. Nowadays, cutting costs and maximising profits is the main priority unfortunately
