►The BMW N51, N52, and N52N/N52TU have powered nearly a million cars delivered to US shores over the last few decades. Their good power and relative reliability have made them popular for daily drivers and grassroots racers. However, BMW has issued recall 22V-119 for every single one of them to fix a potentially fatal flaw. Within the intake manifold is a heated sensor for the PCV system, but due to specifics with its wiring, it can catch fire and spread throughout the engine bay.
Replacing the PCV angle connector is only part of the solution because the harness it's connected to also needs modification. BMW has begun recalling the extensive model list, but some vehicles will have to wait because of the enormous volume. However, FCP Euro feels its important for vehicle owners to see the repair process and understand the nature of the problem.
