There’s anecdotal evidence that dogs can sense early pregnancy. I’ve seen many stories from people who’ve reported that their dogs knew they were pregnant before they did! That their dogs kept close to them, especially when in bed, and then a week or so later they find out they are pregnant. It’s a great sign! Chloe is such a sweet dog. I think there’s a reason you got Chloe when you did and your IVF cycle in January had to be postponed. Emily needed you and you didn’t even know that yet. Emily needed Chloe who wouldn’t leave her side as she would’ve sensed the cancer (dogs have been scientifically shown to be able to detect such things, they’re just incredible with their noses!) and I’m certain provided her with comfort as you all would have. I’m sure Emily was relieved that Chloe would be with you guys when she knew she couldn’t stay long and passed away knowing she’d been truly loved and that her family would be ok with Chloe. I’m sure she’s looking over you during this process. It wouldn’t have been good for you to have been so distressed in early pregnancy by her loss if you’d transferred in January as originally planned. You look so happy and you’re truly glowing Alex. You have a genetically normal embryo of reasonable grade (which doesn’t say as much as the genetics, except for the outer layer which was the highest grade) and developing well and you’re doing everything you can. You’re not going to shake it loose now or anything, especially after 24 hours of good bed rest. There’s really nothing you can do or not do to cause this embryo to implant or not. Take it easy of course but good blood flow is also important for early foetal health so it’s ok to move around some. I’m sure you’ve found a happy middle ground. I think it has worked but if not please don’t blame yourself Alex (though I know mom guilt it seriously tough). You’ve done everything you can. You all have.

Something that will help immensely with the muddy prints, is if you train Chloe to wait at the door when she comes in, to get her paws wiped off. Treats everytime will greatly reinforce that behavior....lol. I know it will take some consistency from you guys, but she's a golden, and will catch on quickly....☺🐕☺

This!!! This is what we do for both of our goldendoodles. Put a rug by the door and train her to stay there until you can wipe off their feet. We do this when there is snow outside too.

@@tessalange248 I wonder if you have a place in your entry way where you can gate it off (swinging latch gate) and carpet on the floor to keep her until she is dried, or wiped off. We had a backdoor of the kitchen, and we gated an area for that purpose for our two dogs.

We do the same. We say “do your feet” and we wipe the paws with a towel.

My wonderful fur baby was husky and border collie. He told every one of our friends that they were pregnant before they even knew themselves most of the time. He just knew. He normally was my shadow that wouldn't let anyone else pet him, he wasn't aggressive he would just dodge the pets from other people. When someone would get pregnant he would forget about me and just be in love with whoever's tummy. Maybe Chloe just knows too.

🙏🏼 something special for you and the family as a treat . Maybe you already know this …but freeze a few bananas (peeled and chucked) put in a blender with just little (maybe 1/4cup ) liquid . Makes great ice cream !!! we have used water , almond milk,dairy milk, creamer, etc.. then add your favorites strawberries, chocolate chips, cocoa powder, vanilla, LOTS of possibilities!! One tip try to make small amounts it’s not as good after you freeze for later .. much love and prayers

Praying for this new little life to find just the right cozy place for God to knit together! That golden bringing mud all over the furniture is going to be a constant pain. My friend had a golden and she did the same thing, only they had a pool and the dog loved to swim. That seemed to just add to the stink and hair was always everywhere even though they had a cleaning service. The dog loved me so whenever I went home I always had to use a tape roller on my clothes. Goldens are just that way with their personality, they love people and think they are lap dogs.

I am super early in my second pregnancy (5 weeks) and I am symptom spotting everything! Even had a nurse tell me firmly to stop testing, and said "that a line is a line is a line." My black Labrador Harvey is seven now. He was a rescue but was only five months when we got him..Whenever I'm ill from my disease Rheumatoid Arthritis. I can go into flare just so quickly. Harvey always is by my side. They just seem to look after us and understand more than we realise. Lol my bed often had to be changed. The bottom sheet more so because of Harvey. I always have an old throw in top of our quilt cover now. So Harvey if a little mucky, it does not matter bless. I am praying for you both . I have a good feeling for you Alex. Your children are going to get a little brother or sister. I just love your home and land. It suits you both so much. I started watching you both when you had your two older beautiful girls and they were toddlers and you were working at the hospital. Phil was a pastor. My husband is on his last year of studying to be a pastor.. It's been a long four yrs . He is really enjoying his placements though . Only four months to go. Alex you are glowing! Chloe knows you are pregnant! My dogs knew every time!! Alex, I love your “dog voice” for Chloe. It’s so cute! You can train Chloe to stand at the door when the weather is bad so you can dry her feet off. Keep a dry towel right by the door, a wet wash cloth, and a treat jar. Every time she comes in, have the girls wipe her paws with the wash cloth, dry them with the towel, and then give her a treat with praise. Do that for 5 days. Then drop the treat and just praise her for another 5 days. After that, when the weather is bad, tell Chloe to “sit” when she comes in and clean her as needed! It has worked with all our dogs. Getting a rug at the door will help clean her feet too.

Our 15 year old Havanese has been very clingy to me, and cries if I leave the room without her. Sending prayers for another healthy little one. I think it's really cool that there was sledding during Cassidy's pregnancy, and now with this new one. It seems Heaven sent. You are NOT milking it. You are taking some aspects from your old physician's plan, and mixing with the new one. Phillip can handle 4 days of dishes and kids. I had surgery 12 days ago. My pup stuck to my side on the bed for the first few days home. Now she checks on me constantly to ensure I’m ok when I get up and about, but now I’m having a rest and she is attached to me. Also. I abandoned white sheets and light coloured quilts not long after we got dogs. We have charcoal and black sheets and dark quilt options that coordinate.
