But I personally and opinionatedly feel that adding random lyrics to what is recent work of art AND selling it on itunes is a bit disrespectful mainly because the composer just passed away. I am also just assuming that they are not paying for rights but I doubt they are as many of these types of groups do not.

I'm sure the artists appreciated your support. I'd LOVE having someone call a part of my performance "stupid"! This was arranged, performed, and uploaded before Roy Hargrove passed away. And they aren't selling this on iTunes. But those are beside the point. They did something interesting and unique and I daresay Roy would have enjoyed it.
