July 28, 1960 Makarios: "The independence agreements do not form the goal they are the present and not the future. The Greek Cypriot people will continue their national cause and shape their future in accordance with THEIR will." In a speech on Sept. 4, 1962 at Panayia Makarios said, "Until this Turkish community forming part of the Turkish race that has been the terrible enemy of Hellenism is expelled, the duty of the heroes of EOKA can never be considered terminated."

@@mariosmario1048 "In 1958 TC and GC lived in harmony..." Utter bollox. The video is a production of GC propagandists. There is ample evidence that GCs started all this crap with the ideology of EOKA. Prior to 1878 TCs outnumbered GCs, but with the anti Turkish agenda of UK it all changed.

Two major fatal mistakes of Greek Cypriots determined the fate of the 1974 Peace Operation. 1. The Greek Cypriots believed that the Greek army would attack the Turkish army. 2. The air force misunderstood the Turkish army, which is at a very high level, and the determination and willingness of the Turkish nation to fight.
