I had just come out of the army and had a interview in London for this ....my dad a retired soldier talked me out of it....all these years later I still shudder of what my fate would have been if my dad hadn't stood in front of me a told me 'not over my dead body ' Of course when Callan trial and fate became news , I had plenty of told you so's......

4 of them were executed, the others were freed a couple of years later.

A prearranged Communist show trial that ended with the shooting of a madman, a cripple, and two other men,one of whom never fired a shot. we should have done for our people in Angolas= what the Israelis did for theirs at Entebbe.

Colonel Callan one of the most intriguing characters in modern warfare a sociopath or a psychopath not sure a very short fuse apparently the stereotypical mercenary in most people's minds I guess when before the firing squad declined his blind fold and accepted his fate

What a brave man. Whatever he did, he took the blame and tried to protect his men. The execution of Gearheart was shameful as he has not even been in action.

You should read what he had done to his fellow comrades as well as enemy soldiers. The man was a dickhead and got what he deserved.
