Why did we separate? East tolerated a lot of atrocities of the west just like bd is tolerating indian atrocities. First was language issue then essential deprivation in politics civil services as well as military services. Murder and rape were prevalent during those times. Hadn't we tolerated enough that's why we wanted independence since we were bound to the wall. Bengalis were starving to death famine was there while west looted all of the golden wealth of east and enjoyed our privileges

He only wanted maximum autonomy for Bangladesh and neger said anything thing to dissolve Pakistan. Yahya had already unofficial declared mujeeb as the future PM in Dec 1970 while returning from India. Mujeeb while on his tour to west Pakistan in Jan 1971 had assured the people of West Pakistan that he is not forcing his 6 points on west Pakistan nor are his 6 points there to break Pakistan. Nawaz Akber Bugti in Feb 1971 had accused Bhutto of trying to break up Pakistan so that he can become the PM of west Pakistan as he knew very well that he will never be able to rule the country till East Pakistan was there. All political parties including Jamat e Islami under Maududi requested Bhutto not to create this situation and let the NA session go as planned in March but he didn’t listened and nor did Yahya who was completely under his control. There was no constitution but the new elected assembly had the right to form the new constitution which mujeeb wanted to form on 6 points . Bhutto just used his 6 points as an excuse to create an impression that Mujeeb wants to break the country so that NA session planned for in Dhaka can get postponed which would create reaction from East Pakistan paving way for an army action. All this was well planned by Bhutto and yahya fell into his trap. It was Bhutto who threatened to break the legs of of any MP of west Pakistan if they tried to board the plane for Dhaka, it was Bhutto who publicly abused Bengalis, it was Bhutto who said “Thank God Pakistan has been saved” when military action started in East Pakistan resulting in death of lacs of innocent Bengalis and Urdu Speakers there. Bhutto was the worst thing to happen to Pakistan. He was the very first selected politician of the country who was made foreign minister during Ayub era, he was the mastermind of maligning Fatima Jinnah (while Mujeeb was supporting Madar e Millat) , he then dumped his daddy Ayub when he saw that Ayub is losing power, then he manipulated Yahya in starting action against Bengalis , and when Niazi surrendered, Bhutto made sure that yahya gets blamed for everything and he takes over the country as a messiah. Bhutto was a genius but an evil genius who costed Pakistan its dignity and half of the country. No doubt Ayub yahya Etc who ruled the country before him were responsible for the greviences caused to the people of East Pakistan but Bhutto played a decisive role in pushing the country downhill .

Bhutto's evil contribution in denying Sheikh Mujibur Rahman the right to form a national government after the latter unanimously won the December 1970 national elections will never be forgotten by the people of Bangladesh. This denial was followed by the swift launching of Operation Searhlight on the night of the 25th of March 1971 where the Pakistani military and their collaborators perpetrated one of the worst genocides of the 20th century against innocent, unarmed Bengali civilians. Bhutto saw Dhaka burn with his own eyes from his hotel room at the Dhaka Intercontinental. After Bangladesh became victorious on 16th December 1971, Bhutto did everything he could to discredit and undermine the creation of Bangladesh in the international community. It was not until 1974 where Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was practically compelled to accept the most unjust terms of the Tripartite Agreement in order for repatriation of Pakistani POWs to take place in exchange of Bengali civilians trapped in Pakistan. The result was that none of those brutal, evil, rapacious Pakistani POWs were tried for war crimes during the Bangladesh Liberation War.
