@@Max-l3z yeah it's all engines so it's bad against control and anything that can get through the defenders in 1 turn like renfri. Not facing control though? Hahahah your opponent will be lucky to have 1 card left on the board at the end of round 3

@@Max-l3z they might've bricked or didn't play it right, this deck is insanely hard to beat without control. If you ping say 6 cards with Treasure Huntress before pinging with the card the scenario spawns, you'll passively be doing 14 damage and boosting for 9 every turn once everything's set up. Drew Saul late? Make that 12 points of boost per turn. Throw in some coin giving cards so you can ping more of your opponents cards once everything's set up and you're playing 30-50 points per turn on your last few cards

you might think renfri is killing the game but from cdpr viewpoint it is increasing their profits and active player base, stats shows that more casual players came back to Gwent after renfri release. cdpr cares more about overall active players than the tryhard minority

I genuinely really appreciate how the community seems largely in agreement that Renfri is bullshit. Good people. The average points I've seen that card play for is around 26 or so, without _any_ apparent deck planning necessary to make her inclusion work and with all sorts of meta-strategic benefits. I mean good god. It's so weird to me to see a card like this in Gwent. I'm fairly new to the game and probably simply missed whatever the previous broken cards were, but overall I'm super impressed with how relatively balanced and, more importantly, restrained the game is with its card effects. In that context, a card like Renfri is just like a slap to the face. As for this deck - holy hell them's some points. The only Syndicate deck I've got so far is an okay-ish Congregate list, but this has me convinced I ought to invest some time and ore into gathering up some more SY cards for sure.

finally yay a syndicate deck that has no renfri XD it's been awhile since we had normal decks always good content Thea and welcome back and congratulations on publishing your new book!! I will wait for the Kindle version patiently and btw I passed my final medical exams, so I will gwent my day (with my daily regular routine of listening to shupe shop music for 30 min at least in the game because its so catchy :D) until I sleep (kill what left of my brain cells after the exams) as a reward.

yea this deck is fun when you have the right setup but the issue is that it's dependent on too many things : Need to start the game because low chance of winning the 1st round if opponent starts, if opponents win 1st round and he doesn't pass second round (which happens 90%of the time) then it's basically already game over. All these conditions is too much RNG, and the winrate of this deck is terrible, it all depends on that one 15 provision cost artifact that needs to be played on a 3rd long round and even then it's not guarantee you will win because all it takes is a banish, locks, and gudrun getting killed to lose. Even the defender in the current meta is pretty useless, they get rid of it so easily even if you have conjurers candle. All in all this is a complicated deck to learn but the winrate isn't good, you will get few really good games with satisfying combos but that's like 20% of the time. the rest is just your setup and winning conditions getting destroyed

"Renfry killed it for me"... Welcome to the club. Haven't played a single ranked match due to Renfri. Poorest design decision made ever for that game. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt to correct their mistake, but another shitty card like that and this game will for me be officially a HS clone where the Devs want RNG to matter more than skill and where every new card has to trump everything else and be completely op then nerfed to make room for the next pos card. I feel better now that I'm not the only one that felt so let down and annoyed by the game. Glad you're still trying to make fun decks to play without following the sheep.

i play on rank 7 with this deck but the winrate is terrible.The problem is low chance winning the first round if the opponent starts,and if you start still not too good chance...if opponent wins first round he doesn't pass the second round mostly,so you will lose with 2-0.If u use the scenario in the 2nd round maybe survive but for what? no chance in the 3rd round without the scenario. Anyway ur deck explanation is very good,thank you!

Whoever designed the Renfri card, and the management that let it pass play testing / QoL, need to be sacked. The card is like a kid in a playground inventing impossibly overpowered abilities for themselves. There is no reality where someone can look at the card and think 'oh yeah, this seems fine'.

Hello everyone, a bit late to the party but here I am ! Got a question : why is it bad to pass at 8 cards ?

You draw 3 cards. So at 7 you will have a full hand in your next turn. Passing early does nothing for you. You can instead throw away a bad card, or even pressure your opponent to go down to 6 cards, giving you a card advantage.

I can recommend different decks against Renfri. SY Golden Nekker is one, Alumni is another one. Kelly works well too. I might be on an Island but the Renfri Meta is much better as the first Golden Nekker season. Much more diversity and the exclusion of specials like Heatwave is at least an interesting experience. Anyway it will change next week and I‘m looking forward to another season and the return of special cards.
