I was skeptical about these things when i first heard about them. Then about a year back and saw that Opeth were using them in their live rigs and they always have tones to die for. Great tones Paul, it really doesn't get any better than this tbh.

I've just found a Syn-1 with footswitch for $326 and an Engl Powerball Module for $265 on Reverb. I've got a Powerstage700 and several cabs and for less than $600 (including taxes and shipping) I'll have a $3000 amp designed by the same guy made in the USA. I've already found a Friedman BB-BE module for $225.00 and will be saving for a Bogner Ubershall module too.

I picked a great time to come back! Forgive me if I completely screw the algorithm by commenting half a dozen times on this video. For now, I will say that the main person behind Synergy is Bruce Egnater. He has final approval on all the preamp modules, and he designed the amps. Steve Fryette designed the SYN-1, SYN-2 and the SYN-5050 power amp subject to Bruce Egnater's approval and input from the other designers (principally including Dave Friedman). Steve Fryette is on record saying that the others demanded the rack power amp be "neutral" to support the huge variety of rack rigs, hence he recommends his own rack power amps for those who want the "feel and sound of a good guitar amp" (I may be paraphrasing unintentionally). Steve Fryette designed his own brand's preamp modules and the Synergy-branded IICP module (Steve Fryette was a personal friend of Randall Smith).

Im an outlier on this but i do with they made a ss unit to hold those. I guess givung you a highbrid.
@PaulGlover Жыл бұрын
That would be bad ass. The syn 1 does have a tube but you could then run into a SS power amp?

@@PaulGlover yes but a single "head" easy to move
@PaulGlover Жыл бұрын
@jacobbockover1628 I see, yes that would be cool. They do do a head, the syn 50. A 50 watt head. Also check out the Laney loud pedal, that's a 60 watt pedal that could run this 4 cable method? That would be a monster set up.

@@jacobbockover1628 You could carry this and an Orange Pedal Baby in a shoulder bag each; add in a gig bag and a BluGuitar Nanocab, and you are good to go with a total of around 40 pounds and a free hand.
