Just a tip for thyla hunting: use a snow owl. Thermal vision makes thyla hunting easy. Plus, you can freeze the thylas on the ground.

If you are on rag in the sand you don’t need it. After you freeze them...then what? Best bet is two make two traps one on the east and west. There is a loop you can make at the southern tip of the central peninsula. Just kill all the low levels and carry the good ones to a tap with an argy. If you farm the Desert drops it won’t be long until you get a good blue print for a long neck. With shocking darts you can drop a thyla in 2 to 3 shots. Then you can up your game to no traps on a griffin and keep a good shotgun for protection. With the new tame hud you can fly off and deload the area and keep it safe.

for future thyla taming reference: crystal isles is the best map i’ve found for taming them. mainly due to the fact that they run around on the ground everywhere like in scorched in the desert area, and crystal isles also has the increased high level spawns. there’s also the redwoods on ci if you’re not having luck in the desert. hope this helped:) edit: made this comment before he went to rag lol
