The Argy taming at 1:02 really confused me until I remembered that S+ has re-sizable dino gates. Hilarious that I thought the bird turned into a stone dino gate for about 10 seconds.

s+ does not have re-sizeable dino gates. you may think of the dynamic gates. but those don't have the top arc thing. only side pillars.

Hay Syntac buddy!! Apon taming a breeding pair myself, using the Alpha Rex method, I find your issue at 13:50ish was that it was not facing the daedon afaict(as far as I can tell) as it doesn't get gains unless it is. With Alphas also, they gain affinity EACH shot you take, so you might have been better off finding an alpha raptor(or that carno lol) for this method to make it the Easiest way :) Oh, and I got an Apprentice saddle inna purple drop.

Alpha raptor or carno would have definitely died without owl healing. He would need a high level Alpha Rex.

I watched a video where they used a high level alpha rex. Pinned the alpha rex. Then kite his Amargasaur down before trying to sync, net it, pinned it. And I think he tamed 2 or 3 high levels before the rex died.

Though with the weapons I have, they do ALOT of dam(~600% Xbow) and I almost killed the alpha before it was tame :P(both times I did it) so you need to have a not so powerful gun/xbow or dino(didnt know it would work on dino, thought had to do it on foot). But yea, thats the same way I did mine.

You can find Amar saddle bps in drops at the loot labyrinth cave in the desert at roughly lat 87.7 long 78.3, I got myself a journeyman saddle bp with 75 armor or so.

Yes you can find BP's for the amar, we found one at 75~ armor and 32~ armor. The Amar does the damage type according to what spike you have active so the armor reduction I find does help against wild dinos and you can shoot down all the different spike types from the 1 creature just not right on top of the last one. As a general defense unit it's not the best obviously the cold and armor type is good for both slowing down units and reducing armor

Each of the variations of the amargas attacks deal different amounts of damage. The stomp does the most, then the tail, then the neck swing and the bite while moving does the least

Yea, whichever spike you have selected, the neck attack does that spikes effect to a lesser degree. So if you have a heat spike on the ground while hitting it with the neck attack, you’ll just make it set on fire faster

One of the best things on this map is that you don't need to tame the same creatures as in every other map. The amount of time I've been playing with Argies is insane and I haven't even played as much as most here probably. I'm so glad about my snow owls. They are insanely good to snatch wyvern eggs too so it's also the first time that I have wyverns and don't only fly with them. They are pretty much just my base defense because there are way too many Rexes where I live. This map just feels so fresh, I'm using so much I have never used. Tames a Mana even before my snow owl but it felt so bad lol after seeing yours I tamed a better one for swimming to get oil.

If the collapse in the wall is 12 o’clock, there is a hive against the inner town wall around 9-10 ish to the right and down from the main gate. When I’m working in the base I just set a reoccurring timer for 15 minutes and go give it a whack with my Direbear.

syntac i just noticed something if the arargasouras insolates u u can use it in yotun hiem to potentially completely neutralize the extream cold if not it will def impact the cold and combined with a good otter would be amazing this needs to be tested

@ Syntac FYI the option to "Allow Flyer Speed Leveling" is now a thing. It is at the bottom of the GENERAL tab on the map/mod choice screen. I noticed it when i went to give lost island a go.

At 22:12, it is not a bleed. Rather, it is a more direct application of whatever spike effect you have active on the Amargasaurus. Really handy at taking out the corrupted gigas and whatnot on Extinction. Sorry for the repost. Realized I was typing it before the video finished, so deleted it all (after hitting the "copy" shortcut) and waited until the end of the video in case Syntac realized the effect by himself.

Yes I've found a couple BPs. Not sure on the cost of spikes as I'm not currently playing the game but I imagine so. Probably need a rep to craft an ascendant saddle if that's the case seeing as how the spikes don't stack.

Syntac there is an easter egg in Lost island. You have to go to a small island on the top left side of the map, you will see a canoe on the shore. When you see the canoe go right and you will see a cave. Go into the cave and the easter egg will be there

I tried using the same trap. I spent probably 3 hours trying to find a good level Snow Owl, 5 minutes on the trap, 15 minutes to lure a Daeodon into the trap and another 5 minutes clearing out the area enough to lead the Amarga to the trap safely. It was going well until a pack of Dire Wolves spawned right in front of me and murdered the 145 Amarga. RIP. Oddly enough I flew over to the desert, found a 150 and 100% efficientive it by just running around shooting Thorny Dragons and Mantis with it. Maybe I’ll try the trap again some other time

Quick little theory- some bosses have projectiles that can hit you on the backs of some creatures. If you have multiple players, one can take a yuty, and one can take an amarga for things like the King Dinopethicus fight where minions throw stuff at the player, due to the player being always on the right side, with the amarga giving a little protection from those projectiles

The arthropleura might be able to destroy the spikes if its considered a building. Arthros are able to destroy every tier of building so the spikes may be considered metal tier or tek.

If u want eggs for the highest tier kibble. Justbtame some low level yutyrannus and breed them and use the egg. Because yutyrannus eggs count as a egg like the wyvern and the magmasaur egg and drakes as well. So syntac if ur reading this. Just tame some yutyrannus with prime meat

Syntac, please read the amargasaurus page on the wiki, it'll clear up a lot of misconceptions you have about the creature. Like how the armor reducing spikes ARE useful in PvE (they increase damage taken by everything in the area by 25%), what the difference between the melee attacks are (they're not just different animations), etc.

All you need to tame Argentavis is to put a stone gateway and door with 5 stone Fence supports stacked on top of one another. Evenly placed between the door about 1.5 feet to 2 feet away.

Also, 2 things. 1. Yes, it’s a pain in the butt to do without the trap, because I’ve lost several nice high levels from trying to hunt and the amount of materials for bullets and all is not worth it. And 2. I haven’t seen a single saddle on the map.
