The Kibbe Body Type system is a styling theory that analyzes personality traits in conjunction with physical characteristics. This is a powerful tool when it comes to personal style development because everyone has their own special type of beauty that should be loved, embraced, and celebrated.
In this video, I will be going over the history of kibbe theory, the key terms, and principles along with examples, and finishing with a quiz so that you may find your own kibbe body type within the 5 families and 13 body types. With this, we can find kibbe guidelines to utilize or break while developing personal style, practicing loving oneself, and being able to understand the dynamics of ourselves in terms of aesthetics of a physical level.

My problem with this quiz is that I find it almost impossible to fill out on oneself. We are so used to seeing our bodies that it's simply hard to objectively look at it or compare it to others'. Also, what is "sloppend and tapered"? Where does "wide" start and end? What if I have a few extra pounds on myself, how does it distort my perception of lines and flesh? Also, people are instinctively drawn towards the middle ground, especially with regards to themseves. So for this quiz to give the correct results, I do believe it must be done by someone with a trained eye. Without that, in my experience, the overwhelming majority just ends up classifying themselves as soft classic.

@@mademiosellezandiii7729 it was made to detect if there was a strong yang/yin influence, but for some reason, the classic family people find an accurate result the most often, so i guess it didn't do a great job at that either 😅

right? i think this system is first and foremost, a tool for David Kibbe himself since only he truly knows what is considered "sloped" or "wide" or "blunt", we can only guess what these terms mean since this quiz was written by him, from his own understanding. there are also cases like me where I have broad but sloped shoulders. so, do i choose B, C or D? there are a lot of "in-between" cases like me where I have a lot of Bs and Cs so does this make me a natural, since I have mostly Bs? or another type since I may not appear a natural on first impression? there are a lot of subjective terms and too many cases that do not fall into the grey areas between types imo

@@YGhappyvirus Well, the verified celebs and a few of the intuitive exercises on his group, strictly kibbe, do help visualise things, but as stated previously, it's sooooo intuitive. Like people can barely explain stuff, but after being on there they just...know ( i got this weird as hell superpower of guessing kibbe types by the sharpness of their facial bones and i'm usually right at least 95% of the time...odd stuff)

Yes, but also people have to have in mind that she isn't a native english speaker and has led to a lot of misconceptions and toxic stereotypes that contribute to type resistance due to the direct translations she made (like soft naturals being bulky, flamboyant gamine looking like a little boy and so on). Style thoughts by Rita is a very good alternative and she has actually met David Kibbe and got a makeover from him! Edit: spelling ugh

A small comment from someone who is not a native English speaker: I noticed your last two videos were quite difficult to understand due to pronunciation, and it wasn’t the case before. I think your voice is beautiful and the earlier videos still sounded very chic. Otherwise, your work is amazing and the videos are so well done. I often rewatch them they are so good ❤️ and thanks for subs!

I spent a good amount of time trying to figure out my body to find a style that would fit me. I had a professional determine my personal seasonal palette and then Kibbe typed myself. After that, something surprising happened: I started wearing whatever I wanted regardless of color and style. The only explanation I can find to it is that all that information and the process of self-discovery involved gave me CONFIDENCE and the feeling that now I know exactly what I'm doing. I can follow the guidelines or I can break them because now I own them and I own my image. So my advice is: find your colors, find your body type, and be finally free.

Last year, I had studied Kibbe theory and typed my body as a Soft Classic. However, I have been confused if my body is a dramatic classic or a soft dramatic. In this quiz, I got mostly Cs with Ds, so I guess I am a Soft classic after all. Thank you ❤️
