I am Korean and would like to let you guys know those words when she introduces herself. Those words, wild goose (Gi-Ro-Gi), tomato (To-Ma-To), Swiss (S-Wi-S), Indian (In-Do-In), shooting star (Byul-Ddong-Byul) all mean the same pronouncing backwards in Korean, just like her name itself (Woo-Young-Woo).

For the sake of understanding autism, this drama is a great example. There are too many kinds of autism. This drama, too Autistic lawyers are based on real people. My friend's son is also autistic, but he has a genius in math. I hope this drama breaks the prejudice that autistic people cannot live in society

@@bigirlinred1612 well I don't wanna seem disrespectful or anything because ofc I'm not autistic but I think this drama helped me understand and sympathize more with autistic people, if you watch the later episodes it really insist on the autistic spectrum and how each person might experience it differently wich was said directly and was the center of one of the episodes. While idk wich stereotype you are attributing to the drama, I think it break the stereotype that autistic people cannot be apart of society and that they're all unsympathetic and emotionaless. Ofc it's just my opinion and I respect you're opinion too,I just love that drama it so cute and fun to watch. Also the main character also said in an interesting on how she was worried that she might interpret the character wrong and how she could be offensive to some people so she made sure to search and get her informed about autism and the spectrum. As someone with ASD, and a longtime fan of kdramas, I was apprehensive of this at first, fearful of a bad portrayal. And yet, I came to be very pleasantly surprised and it is now one of my favorite dramas. Wonderful show.

I already know that this will be one of my all-time favorite dramas. My biggest selling point was the actress. She has done such great work here. She is incredibly intelligent quite like Young-woo and she has researched and spoken to a lot of people on the spectrum to make sure her portrayal was as close to reality as possible. She also went to a prestigious college and majored in psychology. So I'm sure that helped her gauge Young woo as a character as well. But aside from that, this show has so much to offer. Jun Ho is breath of fresh air from all the toxic men I keep seeing. I like that he has a distinct personality that doesn't revolve around his partner. He has a life of his own and doesn't obsess over his girl or patronize her like most k-drama leads. The writing is so good and portrays consent very well. I also love the fact that they didn't make Young woo's entire personality about being on the spectrum. With a lot of projects surrounding people with intellectual disabilities, they are too focused on the disability and try to write that person like some sort of a superhero forgetting that they are human as well. It takes away from the personality of that character and it feels as though that person's intellectual disability is the only personality they have. This drama feels like a fair representation.

Thank you for liking the actress! A little bit fact about her, she's actually a graduated psychology major student from prestigious school in South Korea! Also from the new interview of the actress, Park Eun-Bin, she refrain herself from looking real-life people or already exist potrayal of ASD. She didn't have conversation with ASD people, but she do research abt the character through book, conversation with professors, and diagnosis book for doctors. She said, because she's concern if she can offend people or community when she potray Woo Young-Woo so her research only based on books, so the character Woo Young-Woo only exist in the drama (my explanation might be not do any justice to her answer in the interview, if you interested, you can read her interview from TV Guide 😄)

@@내맘이야-t6l Eun Bin Park is really amazing. I've committed to watching all her dramas. I've seen King's Affection and Castaway Diva -- I was blown AWAY by how well she can sing! I'm also really looking forward to "Hyperknife". I have a lot of experience with autistic and other disabled people, so I find a lot of this very touching and she pulled it off incredibly well, even going far as the stereotyped, almost ritualistic movements (you'll notice her fingers splaying out characteristically when she puts on her headphones, for example), the aversion to touch, etc. I also have a law degree (in the US), so I found it interesting that way (and while a LOT of it -- like most legal dramas -- is not "courtroom accurate", it's still a lot of fun and the similarities that do exist are interesting).

The reason why Woo Young-woo, Extraordinary Attorney , is popular around the world is that the main character has an IQ of 165, and he is a genius who remembers all the books he read and all the words he saw and heard. Jun-Ho and romance are also expected, and the story is not boring by solving the case in each episode. I really recommend it, and it's a healing drama even though I'm exhausted from the pandemic due to the terrible news around the world right now. As the episode progresses, the relationship between Han Bada's CEO and Woo Young-woo's father is revealed, and above all, the CEO of Taesan, the number one law firm in the drama, has a deep relationship with Woo Young-woo.

A subtle hint at the end when the father and CEO meet. She did something unusual, she spoke to him in Banmal, informal speech, instead of Jondaemal, formal speech (ending sentences in '-a' instead of '-yo'). Something you would NEVER do in Korea unless you were definitely close.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo is by far the best kdrama I've seen in a long time. Not only because I could relate to her experiences as a person with a disability as well, her struggles in being hired and accepted in jobs (my current biggest struggle) but like your partner said, it's such a feel-good show that it let's me forget my problems even for just a while. It's such a well-made show I am so happy that they confirmed a season 2! 💙🐳

I learned law during Uni and I was always attracted to dramas related to Law. But what makes this drama so interesting not only the main character has autism, but the way she handled cases are so inspiring. She found hidden issues and assessed it well. Of course, I love the chemistry of the characters in the drama. There is a good interaction and there is also bad one. This is also a great way to learn more about autism! I always look forward to new episodes every week.

Glad I found your reaction. I really enjoyed it. KDramas are a wonderful escape. They can also be gritty and a show a really bleak reality but inspire to overcome what life can throw at you. A 'typical' Romantic Comedy to watch is What's wrong with Secretary Kim. Alot of cliche character's, but done very well and great acting by well-known top actors. It's a little older but not aged yet. The updated version is Business Proposal, which was alot of fun and very creative. For the GRITTY DRAMA and not romance, watch My Mister. Great acting and the plot is very Korean. They can tell a sad story like nobody else. Sad but yet uplifting. Historical KDramas are a whole different genre. The actress who portrays Attorney Woo was recently in The Kings Affection.

i had a similar experience with words and names. see, my name is ana (a-n-a) and her names is Woo Young-Woo (Woo- Young- Woo), even if spelled backwards, the same. and i learned how to talk at four, but i could already read. not trying to show off but yeh
