Sydney is the CDC at The Bear. Carmy is the Executive Chef. Adam would presumably be the Executive Chef of his proposed restaurant. The CDC runs the kitchen, but the Executive Chef still gets final approval on all menus.

Rakk's emergency really threw you off. You'll have yo figure out how yo fill in thet time next time. 😊 Anyway, Sydney's dishes are the ones being praised (the scallop dish the guy who wants to hire her talked about, the dish in the first season that was reviewed), and it's frustrating that Carmy won't listen and has shut her out. In the 2nd season when he was supposed to join her to taste other dishes atound Chicago and he didn't show, that was a knock as well. Shd still has a lot to learn, but Carmy has some demons he has to get rid of first before he can be there for her and I dont know if thats fair to her fie her to put her ambitions on hold.

Sydney won’t be able to shine on her own as long as she remains in Carmy’s shadow. Not every cook/chef has to or wants to shine on their own, but Sydney for sure does. So I think that she should do what’s best for herself and consider the offer.

On the one hand I agree with you, on the other, we've seen everyone who works with Carmy up their game. Sydney has room to improve, but she doesn't see that and much like her catering business, her ambition and impatience are pushing her into something she isn't ready for. What looks like a golden opportunity could be fool's gold. Plus she doesn't know that guy from a can of paint. Carmy and Syd make each other better like true partners are supposed to do. I think Carmy needs to get his act together and eliminate unnecessary distractions so he can be fully present focused and invested in the restaurant dining experience he's trying to create. Not saying Sydney should put her aspirations on hold indefinitely while he does that, but I feel like she's being hasty and letting fear and mistrust guide her decision making.

@@IndomitableAdeI think we should also ask ourselves what Carmy has to teach Syd, especially in his current state. If he’s shut her out, she’s learning nothing. I also think we’re seeing a lot of growth from Sydney throughout the show. I think anyone that can keep her focused and nurture her creative side would be a good mentor. Carmy can only do 1/2 rn Carmy used to be a good partner, right now not so much. I think it would be naive for Sydney to think Carmy is going to do a 180 sometime soon

@@Twilightgirl674 good points. If she waits around she'll be mired in the toxic atmosphere taking over the back of the house. That's a creativity killer for sure. I'm just wary of things that seem too good to be true because they usually are.

I'm not that crazy about the Faks or Claire, I have to admit. He had a lot of blowing off his work responsibilities to hang out with her, which I'm not sure is really making him better. Carmy could also be a little less controlling if he wants to keep someone creative like Sydney around.

@@pabloc8808 The two guys helping Ebra in that scene are real owners of grab 'n go joints, not actors... Chi-Chi, the shorter guy with the heavy Chicago accent owns Mr. Beef, the real Italian beef shop that the show is loosely based on (the real restaurant looks pretty much exactly like The Beef, and they filmed the pilot there). The other guy is Paul James, and he owns a very popular deli in Los Angeles called Mr. Paulie's that a lot of celebrities frequent.

@@dtgstl3148 The name of the other one is Chris Zucchero. That's why it's so real. Zucchero was actually in the pilot as the guy who sold Carmy beef after their usual guys didn't deliver enough ("What am I, a Coinstar?"). Also, fuck silverware

You brothers are my favorite reactors duo! I watched this season a while back & I have been waiting for you & Rekkai to return! I'm from Chicago & when I was a kid I loved Italian beefs! However, we now have a Cheesey Italian Beef Combo that is absolutely delicious! Carme needs more therapy & has to understand what team work & trust mean! He needs to listen to his partner Sid! I think Carme can survive without Sid but he may continue to lose important people in his life! Claire is so good for Carme but Im not sure if he is good for Claire! Both have very stressful jobs but Clair doesn't seem to have all of the family & personal trauma that Carme has! I want to hear Syntel & Rekkai's analysis after the finally! There has to be a season 4 and 5!
