I show some examples of how to use Ring Modulation with the Virus TI! Is there a correlation between noise and ring mod? I didn't have much luck with it, more exploration is needed!

have you used the surge synth plugin before? you should check out the alternate options for the ringmods in the mixer, you can get some cool sounds with them

I haven't until now! it looks great - pretty complex. That is interesting that transpose is called scene. I will bookmark it and check it out sometime.

Thank you, another goodie for my Virus Tutorial folder. I'm all-in now since OsTIrus release, what a thing of beauty. And yes, it does come with over 600 Soundsets & more than 60,000 Presets but they are just "there". I love Sound Design & what you can achieve with the Viirus & do have all the time I need to spend until I'm happy. Having said that, there are still times when I need to RTFM on something but even just listening to your tutorials in the background, I can absorb info while I'm still doing other things around the place. Getting the PDF Reader to read out pages from the Owners Manual is not the same.

Yeah, there is only one preset that came with the stock Virus that I use and that is a Howard Scar classic mono brass lead. He is my favorite Virus synthesist as I love classic sounds. There was a programming manual by him that came with every virus (should be a pdf somewhere) and he is definitely old school, like embarrassingly so and I don't like it haha. Still might be useful for you though. Having the manual be read sounds absolutely awful! Wow. The Virus is deep and the manual is helpful. I was trying to remember where you can change the knob setting from smooth to step and had to look in the manual and there was something else there that I didn't even know about (forget what it is now, can tell how much I use it haha). Glad my videos are helpful. I have yet to get Virus Control working so a lil worried about my future Virus videos!

I've revisited "The Matrix" about 6 times now, no Neo jokes those times around. I've heard people say that Virus Control was sucky in all the newer Windows. ps: every Tom, Dick & Harry suddenly reviewing the OsTIrus now on KZbin.

@@AA-ge4uj Haha I know I still think about how I missed that opportunity from time to time. Kept thinking at the time that I wanted to avoid the correlation for some reason. I tried today to get VC working and the driver just isn't sticking. I had to follow a procedure for it to be picked up by Access's software (outside of cubase) which worked, but fails after closing that window. About OsTirus, yeah that is very popular right now. I am not much of a reviewer, but I've been getting requests to review that one and may at some point. I am currently making a Virus TI story/review right now and that I am very into as I hold it dear to my heart.

Remembering that it's not an emulation of the machine but rather an emulation of the CPU that drives it. And as it runs the original firmware & all the hoohaa about ownership, you would be a Legit owner as you actually own the hardware. The people at Access should strongly consider selling the Firmware so they can still make some money out the whole deal & hopefully stop crying about it coz people are going to use it regardless. They should be proud their synth had such an impact. It does on me, coming from Roland/Korg background, those trippy pads, is it a better 303? Shhh, Tojo might be listening.

@@AA-ge4uj True, the D/A converters make a difference. I was concerned making a video on it because of the copyright stuff (even if I own the product). Kinda not worth it to me and I'm too unstructured to make proper reviews anyways. I didn't know access was making a fuss, but not surprised! They used to sell PCI versions of the Virus B. Probably not worth it to get involved with more hardware though.

@@Pyroific Sequential makes some great stuff. I don't know what it is about the P8 filter, but I just don't jive with it. At least when I played the Mopho

Keep it. Although there is software out there which is quite good you always need a computer for that. Just a single stupid OS update might ruin your day. With the TI, you just switch it on and have fun.

Agreed! One of my favorite things in life is turning on a synth and getting lost. It is funny as I was just thinking yesterday about how I would function with only VSTs. A part of me likes the idea of having everything load back up as I left it, but it just isn't the same as working with hardware.
