When you play it with the Grandmother, it’s like it found a long lost friend. 😀

I always appreciate when someone makes a melodical demo not just stupid aimless knob twisting Thanks man 👍

The MG-1 is the grandmother's grandmother somehow - thus the great great grandmother

I had no idea of the polyphony. That’s cool, kind of want one now. It’s sounds fantastic!

It's not. Just differently tuned oscillators and filter.

@@mmrva Well, no. The organ section spits out a fully polyphonic square wave.

Very nice video! My first Moog was the Grandmother and I love it and then just recently had an opportunity to get the MG1 refurbished for a great price. I just got it two days ago. I see that you are using the headphone out. Is that stereo? Just wondering if that was the reason and also is there a way to sync the two ? I am just a newbie. Thank you !!

These are all great patches. I own one of these and love it, but I struggle to get it to not sound overly aggressive. Seeing how you setup your patches I realized that I have been ignoring much of the range with the cutoff, resonance and contour. Great job! People rag on the noise circuit in this unit because it is a sample but I think it sounds great.

It's usable, but it's a low quality and very short sample. Put it up against a true random analog noise generator and it falls quite short.

There are other synths with that cheap noise sample chip. Moog Source is one.

I know your video is a couple years old but is it worth getting one of these? Seems pretty cheap for a vintage synth..

that keyboard similar to Virus TI tho. Maybe this will fit for me to cover new divide.

Looks lkike Moog used spare parts from the Opus-3 to make tyhe MG-1. Interesting there are no pitch or modulation wheels.

It's got a great, gritty tone, doesn't sound realistic though!

What shelving do you have? Looks great!

It's an On-Stage KS7903, but I cut the horizontal parts to have a more narrow stand.
